Responsibilities

We are looking for a strong Product Manager with strong leadership and software development experiences who can effectively manage working across multiple teams of developers and multiple products, while interacting with technical, business and vendor teams to ensure products are built to needs, usability and rolled out in a timely manner.


Manage product feature set/roadmap based on constantly evolving business short term and long-term needs Build and maintain required documentation (requirements/use cases/strawman) gathering inputs from business Work across teams (technical and business) and ensure solution is optimal and effective across the enterprise where applicable Understand and work on technical/functional details across technical and business teams as needed from design through maintenance phases Manage scope and effort to ensure timely and consumable releases and build effective release plans working with the development team Engage periodically/provide executive summaries to stakeholders across multiple levels on status/progress, challenges, and risk mitigation Ensure field defects/challenges are reviewed, prioritized, and resolved in periodic releases Identify and provide user training insights for releases as appropriate Travel as appropriate for major rollouts and for gathering feedback from the ground on product usage/adoption, challenges and roadmap

The JPM North American Corporate Clearing Product team is seeking a candidate to fill a VP Product Manager role that will focus the NA Corporate market. As the scope of Corporate Clearing is ever expanding, the candidate will be required to be an active liaison collaborating with multiple Product, Sales, Service, Technology, and Operations team along with key partners in supporting, strengthening, and growing the JPM NA Corporate Clearing position in the Industry. The Wire Product Manager will also be a key contributor in supporting the ongoing Payables payment initiatives, and Products.

Drive and promote the Product direction and strategic roadmap for Corporate Wire Continual review of the domestic and international corporate clearing landscape to determine strategy for busines growth Key contributor to the development, implementation, and coordination of Corporate Clearing Product. Qualifications


• Clearing product knowledge required. Must have knowledge of both US domestic and international clearing systems

• Proven understanding of current payments opportunities and how to effectively set the payments strategy, prioritize strategic initiatives and shape partnerships with technology innovators and industry groups

• Proven understanding in innovation (AI, Blockchain, APIs etc.) and the ability to think strategically about how to advance business-led solutions

• Exceptional written and oral communications skills required, including the ability to synthesize "the story" for executive-level audiences and adjust messages and style based on different audiences and agendas

What does a Corporate Product Managerdo at GAINSCO?



Job Purpose:
Determine how the Company rates policies (advancement of rating algorithms, determination of rating variables, determination of third-party rating/UW report usage, etc.). Determine how we underwrite policies/Underwriting Guidelines. Creates and updates policy forms, including Personal Auto Policies. Responsible for Advanced Analytics/Modeling. Tracking/monitoring of Legislative, Regulatory and Case Law. Research new state entry. Work with IT to create business requirements to ensure items developed are implemented correctly.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with all departments (Corporate Product, State Product Management, Actuarial, Claims, Policy Operations/Underwriting, IT, Sales & Marketing, etc.) to gather information to determine Product strategy and then create and implement the strategy.
  • Share extensive Product knowledge and expertise with the Compliance Managers to jointly determine how the Company responds to, and the steps necessary, to maintain compliance after legislative, regulatory and case law changes.
  • Work with Manager of Advanced Analytics on GLM analyses to advance our pricing sophistication/accuracy.
  • Analyze our existing rating algorithm and UW rules to determine whether they are performing at an optimal level.
  • Work on retrospective analyses to determine viability of new pricing and UW tools in our Class Plan.
  • Be the point person for certain discussions with Departments of Insurance relative to filings and objections.



What is Corporate Product?


The Corporate Product Department consists of three key functional areas:

  1. Class Plan Development and Research for the Company
    • Determine how the Company rates policies (advancement of rating algorithms, determination of rating variables, determination of third party rating/UW report usage, etc.)
    • Determine how we underwrite policies/Underwriting Guidelines
    • Create and update policy forms, including Personal Auto Policies
    • Responsible for Advanced Analytics/Modelling
  2. Compliance
    • Legislative, Regulatory and Case Law tracking/monitoring
    • New state entry research
  3. Business/IT Liaisons for project implementation
    • Work with IT to create business requirements to ensure items developed from 1 and 2 above are implemented correctly.



What is required?


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Statistics, Data Science, Programming Actuarial Science or Math.


Experience:

  • 8 or more years' experience in personal lines auto insurance, with specific experience in at least a few of the following areas: product management, analysis, rating/pricing, underwriting, product development/research, forms creation and/or compliance.


Other skills and abilities:

  • Ability to gather, extract, monitor, format and understand information and effectively present a summary of analytical work and ideas to Senior Management and other departments.
  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills used to make decisions regarding the Product.
  • Experience with managing discussions with Departments of Insurance and Vendors.
  • Excellent organizational, project management and time management skills.
  • Ability to balance quantitative analysis with competitor behaviors and compliance and regulatory changes in the marketplace.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Office Equipment and Software:

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel required.
  • Experience in or exposure to VBA, SQL, SAS, Microsoft Power BI and other MS Office products strongly preferred.
