**How you make a difference**
As a Licensed Mental Health Professional working in a correctional facility, your responsibilities include conducting intake evaluations, providing therapeutic interventions and suicide prevention techniques, and developing treatment plans for inmates. Reporting to the Laboratory Director, the Section Supervisor is a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, (CLS), responsible for supervising one section of the Lab, correctly performing technical procedures and Quality Control, operating and maintaining instrumentation and taking steps necessary to assure quality results and performing other duties as needed. Every employee of the laboratory at Doctors Medical Center is expected to promote the mission and philosophy of the hospital by acting in a caring, courteous and confidential manner towards patients, visitors, colleagues, and staff by performing their duties and responsibilities according to the expected standards. Every member of the Laboratory Staff is expected to perform their duties and to accept the responsibility of the accuracy of their work as dictated in their Professional Standards as Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Health Care Workers. Staff members will maintain confidentiality of all reports, maintain the integrity of identification of patient samples and will perform designated tasks which will enable the laboratory to comply with all regulatory standards of Clinical and Anatomic Laboratories.
Minimum Education: Bachelors Degree - Medical Technology/Biological Science, Medical Technologist Internship
Minimum Experience/Skills: One to three years experience preferred.
License/Certificates/Credentials:
California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license
ASCP Registry recommended

**How you make a difference**
As a Physician's Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will work under the direct supervision of the Health Services Administrator (HSA), Program Manager (PM), or higher medical professional, and assist the Physician in providing medical care and treatment to the inmate population, which includes addressing behavioral health disorders. You will coordinate patient care plans by conducting assessments, developing plans, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes, all while working collaboratively with the healthcare team and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations at the agency, local, state, and federal levels.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Conduct daily sick call, carry out treatments, and follow standardized procedures and protocols.
- Provide emergency care for identified medical emergencies and coordinate patient transfers to appropriate facilities.
- Perform minor surgical procedures, repair lacerations, and remove sutures.
- Treat and manage non-psychotic behavioral health disorders and provide ongoing care for patients on maintenance doses of non-psychotic medications.
- Participate in Quality Management and Peer Review activities, document findings using the S.O.A.P.E. method, and attend quarterly Quality Management meetings.
**Additional Details**
Compensation Rate: $72.42/hour
**Qualifications & Requirements**
Education
+ Completion of a master's program in nursing (NPs) or an accredited education program for PAs
Experience
+ Previous correctional/detention facility experience
+ Minimum two (2) years' experience
Licenses/Certifications
+ Unrestricted current license, certification or registration in state of practice - must maintain all certifications, educational requirements, licensing, etc.
+ Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration
+ Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS and PALS (where applicable) certification through AHA

How you make a difference
The Physician is responsible for assessing and treating patients' physical health including conducting exams and coordinating outside referrals. The role includes oversight of clinical care activities provided by ARNPs, documentation, and after-hours on-call responsibilities. This position performs minor procedures and collaborates with psychiatric and interdisciplinary staff to ensure integrated care. Physicians also educate patients and families, ensure compliance with safety procedures, and tailor treatment plans to the patient's age and development. Travel may be required depending on facility needs, and work is primarily in correctional or clinical settings.
Key Responsibilities
Assess patients' physical health through examinations and diagnostic procedures
Provide and oversee documentation, outside referrals, consultations, and follow-ups
Offer clinical oversight and support to ARNPs, including care provision and documentation review
Perform minor medical procedures such as sutures, IV placement, and lumbar puncture
Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff and provide education to patients and families

Qualifications & Requirements
EDUCATION
Medical doctorate (MD) or doctor of osteopathy (DO) from an accredited university
EXPERIENCE
Two (2) years post-residency clinical experience in an outpatient/inpatient setting
Psychiatric experience preferred
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Licensed in the state of employment
Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and applicable certifications
Board certified or eligible in internal or family medicine
