A Sheriff's Correctional Deputy Cadet enters training to join the ranks of Sheriff's Correctional Deputies who, under supervision, maintain order and security of inmates within a detention facility, transport from the correctional facilities to and from court, medical facilities, and other locations within and outside the County, supervise a crew of inmates in work projects throughout the County, and assist in the correction of antisocial attitudes and behavior. The Patrol Officer provides protection for people and properties on Vanguard University's campus. The Patrol Officer, in motor vehicle and/or on foot, will patrol roadways, walkways, parking lots, administration buildings, academic halls, and resident buildings located on Vanguard University property. The Patrol Officer ensures that activity logs are maintained and updated accurately in a timely fashion. A Sheriff's Correctional Deputy Cadet enters training to join the ranks of Sheriff's Correctional Deputies who, under supervision, maintain order and security of inmates within a detention facility, transport from the correctional facilities to and from court, medical facilities, and other locations within and outside the County, supervise a crew of inmates in work projects throughout the County, and assist in the correction of antisocial attitudes and behavior. Agility Examination: Prior to appointment as a cadet, each candidate must pass an agility test as part of the examination process. The agility test consists of three timed events: 99-yard obstacle course, drag a 165-lb bag for 32 feet, and a 500-yard run.
