Specific Responsibilities Under the direction of an experienced Kohler Co. Security Supervisor, and within defined timeframes, a Security Officer I is: Responsible for the protection, safeguarding, and security of personnel, customers, visitors, and assets. Responsible for monitoring and authorizing entrance and departure of associates, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of the premises. Responsible for greeting visitors in person in order to provide assistance or refer to an appropriate company representative. Responsible for operating a multi-channel radio with multiple frequencies. Responsible for observing and reporting all suspicious activity or policy violations. Responsible for managing the access control requirements in a manner that ensures the highest level of security in an efficient manner. Physical Requirements The minimum physical requirements of Security Officers include The ability to transport emergency medical equipment, such as medical bags and oxygen equipment, weighing approximately 50 pounds, from a vehicle to the scene of the emergency and appropriately utilize equipment at the scene. The ability to ascend and descend fixed or portable ladders to access roof and other areas in the event of an emergency. The ability to be certified and correctly perform CPR, unassisted, as defined by the American Heart Association and operate an automatic external defibrillator. Be able to provide verbal instructions in an emergency in a clear and intelligible manner. The ability to legally operate a passenger automobile or light truck. The ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, as necessary. Key Responsibilities: * Secures code compliance through education and enforcement which may include citation preparation, citation issuance and legal testimony. * Perform education and enforcement tasks in gaining compliance with a variety of property maintenance and quality of life ordinances in the City of Neenah including, but not limited to, long grass, sidewalk snow removal, brush, garbage, vision clearance, banners and signs, junk and debris, junk or unlicensed vehicles, improper parking of vehicles and trailers, etc. * Initiates warning letters, citations, or civil actions on violations. * Prepares reports and maintains records to be submitted to state and local authorities for all programs. * Meets with homeowners, landlords, and tenants to discuss concerns with code issues found and correction notices issued by the Code Enforcement Inspector as a result of inspection activity. * Meets with and communicates with other city officials, including members of the Department of Public Works, the Department of Community Development, the City Attorney, and elected officials to discuss certain violations and to formulate an enforcement plan. * Assists the Department of Community Development and the City Attorney's office with issuing of citations and delivery of paperwork as needed for their cases. * Implement and utilize the techniques and processes as provided by City staff to identify violations, to communicate with offending parties, and to gain compliance. * Assist the police department with miscellaneous duties as needed, such as traffic direction, community service, administrative duties, etc. * Additional duties included in full job description.
