Responsibilities include:

Communicate incidents and concerns, using the phone or radio equipment, to other departmental representatives. Write complete, concise, and accurate Incident and Fire Alarm Reports. Remain alert to surroundings at all times.
Act as a front line representative of the University, providing information, direction and assistance to residents, guests and staff.
Monitor the video displays for improper activities. Report any equipment related malfunctions to the supervisor on duty or to the Residential Safety Office.
Attend at least two training sessions per year. Consult and review the Operations Manual on a regular basis.
Required Skills
High School Diploma or equivalent. Excellent communication, writing, and customer service skills. One to three years of experience as a security assistant or related experience working with the public.

DUTIES:

Maintains security of jail, government and judicial center and historic courthouse, monitoring activities throughout facility including monitoring surveillance cameras, door controls, meals and visitors, and conducting patrols in and outside of these facilities. Maintains accurate accounting of all inmates.
Performs booking procedures of individuals being detained, including photographing/video taping, fingerprinting, entering information on computer, receiving and accounting for money and personal property, and ensuring inmates are properly showered, changed into jail clothing, and searched for weapons and other contraband. Do periodic checks of the county parking lots to check security and issue citations for improper parking.
Performs duties in control room as assigned, including monitoring alarms and many closed-circuit cameras throughout facility; coordinating with jail, Prosecuting Attorney, and court personnel regarding transporting inmates for appearance; dispatching other CorrectionsOfficer/Courthouse Security personnel to assignments and periodic emergencies; answering telephone and providing information and assistance as requested. Periodically uses intercom to notify all building personnel of emergencies, such as bomb threats or severe weather.
Monitors activities throughout facility and in courtroom during legal proceedings as assigned, including conducting foot patrol and searching facility as needed; conducting sobriety tests as needed; pursuing/apprehending/searching suspects/arrestee, and seizing weapons and/or contraband; escorting inmates, witnesses, and/or jurors to/from courtroom and building; mediating citizen disputes and solving problems; and examining firearms used as evidence in court proceedings to ensure safety of court personnel and the public. Performs bonding procedures, including completing required forms, ensuring documentation is correct, receiving and receipting bond money, returning personal belongings, and releasing inmates.

Issues/monitors prescribed medications according to physician's orders, and ensures inmates receive proper medical attention as needed.
Receives/distributes, examines and logs incoming/outgoing mail and personal items for inmates. I. JOB REQUIREMENTS AND DIFFICULTY OF WORK:

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As public servants, correction/jail officers employed by the Suffolk County Sheriff must conduct themselves in an exemplary manner both on and off duty. They must know and scrupulously observe the Department's standards of employee conduct.
Officers ensure the care, custody and control of inmates in accordance with Department policies and procedures. To provide such care, custody and control, officers must tour assigned areas (which requires them in some cases to periodically climb approximately 10-15 stairs); observe inmate activity in person and on closed-circuit monitors; identify inmates who have behavioral, medical or other problems so that appropriate safety and security measures may be taken; and perform general security duties to prevent escape, disorder, rule infractions and harm to inmates, visitors and staff. The general security duties performed by officers require them to search inmates, visitors, cells and other areas for weapons and contraband; monitor and regulate inmate and staff movement; maintain and record inmate counts, cell assignments and other pertinent information; escort inmates within and outside the institution; use and maintain keys and other equipment; and supervise inmate work details. Specific security duties vary by post assignment. Depending on post assignment, both the general and specific security duties range from sedentary to very active in nature.
Officers are supervised and directed by superior officers and must be able to understand and carry out moderately complex oral and written instructions. They are required to prepare accurate written reports and communicate orally and in writing with their superior officers, inmates and staff. If so directed, officers must respond to emergency situations, including incidents involving inmate violence. Depending on assignment, they must be able to respond to such situations by employing emergency equipment, restraints, weapons (including, in certain limited circumstances, firearms) and force when necessary. They must also lift equipment, perform assisted lifting of inmates, exercise sound judgment, and work under pressure in stressful situations.
All officers must participate in training and may be eligible for special, temporary, and/or provisional assignments and duties. SUPERVISION RECEIVED
The rank of officer is the initial rung in a chain-of-command ladder that culminates in the Superintendent, who has overall responsibility for the institution. Officers work under the direct supervision of a sergeant and/or one or more corporals who review work for compliance with regulations. Officers also work under the general supervision of Lieutenants and Captains, one of whom is the Shift Commander and the official responsible for the actions and performance of all uniformed officers assigned to a particular shift.

Duties for the position of CorrectionOfficer I\:
Maintains Custodial care and control of incarcerated individuals by escorting or transporting them under restraint, patrolling facilities, making periodic rounds, head counts and security checks of buildings, grounds and incarcerated individual's quarters, monitoring incarcerated individuals' movements and whereabouts, and guarding and directing incarcerated individuals during work assignments to maintain order and security in a correctional institution; observes conduct and behavior of incarcerated individuals; develops working relationships with incarcerated individuals be revering individuals to appropriate supportive servicer; prepares monthly evaluation reports; performs related operational duties and performs related work as required.

Working conditions\:
CorrectionOfficers may work in a correctional facility, alone in an isolated area; may work varied shifts, weekends, holidays, or nights and are subject to a standby (on call) work status; may be subjected to verbal and physical abuse from others; may be required to interact with people who are under physical and/or emotional stress; stand and walk for prolonged periods of time; are subject to injury from firearms; may work under exposure to adverse weather conditions; may travel for job-related purposes; and may be required to furnish private transportation for reimbursable job-related travel.

This is a Civil Service position. Candidate must take and pass the next Civil Service Examination for this title and score must be reached in order to be considered for a permanent appointment. Qualifications
At least one year of customer-facing or concierge experience strongly preferred.
Familiarity with POS systems and/or compliance technology preferred.
Security, military, or law enforcement experience is a plus when paired with a strong commitment to guest-first, hospitality-focused service.
Meet the scheduling and availability requirements (i.e., ability to work a schedule inclusive of varying shifts such as mornings, days, nights, and weekends) to meet business needs.
Must have reliable, responsible, and dependable attendance.
Must pass all required background checks including state-specific cannabis employment requirements.
Possess valid driver's license or state ID.
Must be 21 years or older and meet all state-specific cannabis employment requirements.
Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the cannabis industry.

Issues/monitors prescribed medications according to physician's orders, and ensure juveniles receive proper medical attention as needed.
Conducts routine "shakedowns" of all cells for contraband, and prepares written report of findings.
Ensures compliance with facility rules and regulations, and records and reports inappropriate behavior to appropriate department personnel. Properly secures and/or physically restrains violent and uncontrollable juveniles as situations demand.
Prepares and submits required reports according to department deadlines.

As a result of the duties associated with this job, there is the potential of becoming exposed to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious diseases. To safeguard employees and eliminate the liability placed on Hamilton County, employees working in this position shall begin the three shot Hepatitis B vaccination and subsequent training within 10 days of their initial job assignment per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1030(f)(2)(i). The initial and two subsequent vaccinations shall be administered by the Hamilton County Health Department and free of charge to the employee. If the employee has previously received the three shot Hepatitis B vaccination, official documentation must be provided to the supervisor identifying the dates in which each shot was appropriately administered. A Temporary Medical Declination may be made for a period of up to six months. A Declination form must be completed, outlining the medical reasons for the temporary declination and forwarded to the Safety & Risk Manager. Employees temporarily declining the vaccine are prohibited from performing any duties in which they may be exposed to a blood borne pathogen or other potentially infectious disease until they are able to begin/continue the series of vaccinations. Failure to comply will result in termination of employment.
As a condition of employment, all employees of the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office are expected to comply with the agency's Drug Free Workplace Policy. Therefore, employees working in this position must follow all County policies and procedures with respect to drug and alcohol testing. The policy requires random drug testing and the disclosure of certain drug prescriptions that are labeled as possibly affecting or impairing judgment, coordination or other senses, (including dizziness or drowsiness), or which may adversely affect the employee's ability to perform work in a safe and productive manner.

Established in 1982, Elite Protective Services (EPS) is a locally owned and operated company specializing in alarm response, patrol, and security services.
We are hiring ARMED PATROL OFFICERS for 3rd shift (overnights, 00:00-08:00, 00:30-08:30). This is permanent employment with fixed schedules and weekly pay with a local company.
SALARY:
40+ hours per week, $23-24 per hour, with a $1,000 sign-on bonus.
Weekly pay, semiannual increases, 401(k), and profit-sharing are available.
These are armed, uniformed patrol positions (vehicle and foot). A driver's license and a Massachusetts Class "A" Large Capacity License to Carry Firearms-LTC-are required.
Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Removing unhoused and unauthorized persons.
Responding to burglar and fire alarm dispatches at commercial and residential sites.
Conducting vehicle and foot patrols across multiple locations in Greater Boston.
Completing detailed and clear response and patrol reports.

Elite Protective Services (EPS) is currently seeking a DAY-TIME ARMED PATROL OFFICER (UNIFORMED) for a patrol position within the Greater Boston Area. The proposed work schedule is Monday-Friday. We require a polished security professional who can work independently and interact well with clients, fellow officers, and the general public. An ideal candidate is detail-oriented, punctual, honest, dependable, and capable of multitasking. In addition to patrol and alarm response duties, this officer will assist the operations department with matters related to site, vehicle, company, and clients as needed. This position requires both a driver's license and a Commonwealth of Massachusetts Class "A" LTC.
Your job duties will include (but are not limited to):
Vagrant and unauthorized person(s) removals.
Responding to commercial and residential burglar and fire alarm dispatches.
Conducting vehicular and foot patrols of multiple locations throughout Greater Boston.
Completing detailed and legible response and patrol reports.
