This position is under the direct supervision of the Project Manager and is responsible for the protection, safeguarding, and security of assets, personnel, customers, and all visitors.
Essential Functions
Read and understand the English language to effectively carry out applied printed rules, detailed orders, instructions, and training materials. Have a command of both the written and spoken English language to properly communicate in person or via electronic devices (telephone and radio) with co-workers and the general public. The ability to maintain a professional, tactful and courteous demeanor under stressful situations security personnel routinely encounter. Be able to compose precise short paragraphs, written reports, and other reports in the English language as necessary.
Job Duties
Performs security patrols.
Enforces access control procedures.
Protects property from theft, embezzlement, sabotage, fire, and accidents.
Investigates and write reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards, and other security-related situations.
Assist customers, employees, and visitors in following the department's procedures.
May perform other related duties as assigned by a security Lieutenant and/or security Project Manager.

3. Two years of active service in the Army Reserve, the Army National Guard, the Navy
Reserve, the Air Force Reserve, the Air National Guard, the Marine Corps Reserve, or

It is a physical fitness assessment which consists of four components (push-ups, sit-ups, Illinois Agility Run and a 1.5 Mile Run). The APAT is designed to measure the current level of general physical fitness of an applicant, which serves as an indicator of an applicant's ability to safely complete a vigorous physical training program. General Medical Requirements: As determined by OPM the duties of this position require moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather. Manual dexterity with comparatively free motion of fingers, wrist, elbows, shoulders, hips and knee joints is required. Arms, hands, legs and feet must function sufficiently in order for applicants to perform the duties satisfactorily.
Additional information
* Recruitment Incentive: Applicants may be eligible for a $40,000 recruitment incentive in accordance with regulatory requirements. The first installment of $15,000 will be paid following successful completion of Secret Service Criminal Investigator training. A second installment of $10,000 will be paid following one year of service post training and an acceptable performance rating. The final installment of $15,000 will be paid after a third year of service post training and an acceptable performance rating. Provision of these payments require the execution of a three-year Continued Service Agreement (CSA) with the agency. Newly hired employees who resign from the USSS prior to the expiration of the CSA will be required to repay the recruitment incentive. (NOTE: Eligibility is limited to "Newly appointed" Federal employees as defined by 5 CFR 575.102).
Applicants selected for this position will be required to sign a CSA before being assigned to an initial training class. The CSA will commit the applicant to a specified period of employment with the Secret Service upon the successful completion of training.
Applicants will be required to travel to all phases of the hiring process at their own expense. If a final job offer is extended, relocation expenses will not be authorized for first duty location.

**Essential Responsibilities** As the Campus Security Officer, you will: + Complete all required training and maintain all required certification(s) for all aspects of security protection + Respond to on-site emergencies + Maintain effective campus access controls
+ Continuously maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license (permitting operation in New York State)
+ Continuously maintain all licenses, certifications and other authorizations required under applicable laws, rules and regulations (federal, state, local and other) to carry out the duties of Security Officer
+ Operate computers and other equipment to the extent but not limited to writing reports, sending/receiving email communications, operation computer-based surveillance and intrusion detection systems, access control platforms, protection devices, fire protection and suppression platforms and patrol tour reporting systems
+ Detect, deter and report suspicious activity or findings.
+ Respond to emergency incidents including but not limited to; fire, spills, medical, motor vehicle accidents, water breaks, odors, floods
**Qualifications**
+ High School Diploma / GED
+ Current valid State of New York Security Guard License (must have completed the 16-hour course)
+ Ability to work 2nd Shift (2p - 10pm)
**ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:**
+ In addition to background check and drug screen, as the position requires operation of a GE owned or leased/rented vehicle for company business a driving record check must also be completed
+ Have sufficient proficiency with computer and other equipment to appropriately operate equipment associated with their responsibilities including but not limited to writing reports, sending/receiving email communications, operation computer-based surveillance and intrusion detection systems, access control platforms, protection devices, fire protection and suppression platforms and patrol tour reporting systems

Emergency Response: Responds promptly to emergency calls, provides first aid or assistance as needed, and coordinates with other emergency responders when required.
Crime Prevention: Monitors access points, enforces campus policies, and addresses violations like trespassing, vandalism, and theft. Conducts security checks on buildings and facilities.
Investigations: Collects evidence, interviews witnesses, and files detailed reports for further action by campus authorities or law enforcement if necessary.
Safety Training and Awareness: Attends safety workshops, training sessions, and awareness programs related to personal safety, fire safety, and active shooter preparedness.
Communication: Maintains clear and constant communication with other Campus Safety members, campus staff, and local law enforcement to coordinate responses to incidents effectively.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in a related field, and/or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, or work experience.
Associate's degree in a related field of study may be substituted for work experience.
Valid NYS drivers license.
Current New York State Security Guard registration certification required.
Physical requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs, walk and stand for extended periods, and climbing of stairs.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.
