DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for safeguarding people and property while enforcing Commonwealth and facility regulations related to hospital operations. You will conduct mobile and foot patrols and monitor security systems and cameras throughout the facility to maintain law and order. Duties include preventing and detecting crimes, as well as investigating complaints and writing incident reports for security violations. You will assist in investigations, respond promptly to emergencies, and help manage or resolve critical situations. Additionally, you will perform safety patrols and inspections to identify fire or safety hazards that could threaten people or property. You will also oversee operations in the communications and dispatch center and use computer systems to manage access for employees and visitors.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
Work hours are 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Sunday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch. You will have every other weekend off and work rotating holidays.

Duties Description As an Investigative Officer 1 (Public Work Wage) under supervision of an Investigative Officer 2 (Public Work Wage), you would:
* Enforce the provisions of Articles 8, 8A, and 9 of the New York State Labor Law which requires that the prevailing wage rate be paid to workers on public work construction project

7. Completes detailed reports of incidents occurring during work shift and submits same to supervisor. Completes a minimum of eight (8) hours continuing education per year on security related issues.
