LOCATION

SCHEDULE
Consistent weekly afternoon availability, 2-5pm (morning hours also available).
Minimum availability of at least 2 days a week (M-Fri).

REQUIREMENTS

Responsible & Professional | communicate professionally, timeliness, clean appearance, self-assured, dependable
Experienced & Enthusiastic | proven experience engaging and leading young children
Fun & Creative| comfortable being goofy and imaginative with young children
Patient & Empathic | must be a patient person, willing to work through behavior and learning challenges
Soccer & Athletic Know-How| Soccer skill as a player or coach is preferred, but not required
Transportation & Cell Phone| must have reliable transportation (driving to different locations) and mobile phone with data
Clear Background| must pass a Livescan (with clear record) and health screening
Education| 12 accredited ECE units in Early Childhood Development are preferred, but not necessary

Summary
:
Instructs parents with children between 4 months and 35 months of age
on life-saving and foundational swim skills based on thorough knowledge of the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.


Duties and Responsibilities
:


Provides swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum. Provides direction and detailed explanations of skills while displaying a confident and enthusiastic demeanor about the class. Monitors and corrects parents during skills in order to enhance student progress. Interacts with parents/guardians on the activities and development of students’ swim skills. Acts as a GSS “ambassador” to ensure parental satisfaction. Performs light cleaning duties such as window washing, deck mopping, trash removal etc. on occasion. Attends required/mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours. Fulfills other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Employer.
Education/Experience
: High school diploma or GED is preferred. Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider preferred. Child development experience preferred (child care, education, etc.).


Certifications and Licenses
: Lifeguard, CPR/AED and First Aid certifications preferred. Shallow water attendant highly recommended.


Work Environment
: While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.

Refine curriculum and add personal contributions as seen fit

Interact with parents in a professional and energetic manner

Help cultivate healthy self-esteem and a natural love for learning

Be responsible for supply inventory, bin prep and clean-up

Maintain accurate reporting: attendance records, class notes, daily log, incident reports

Lead engaging and well organized recreation activities designed to promote teamwork, collaboration and fun physical activity

Attend staff meetings and professional development series

Ensure all students are safe and have a positive experience in our program this includes diligently following all EDMO Covid-19 guidelines and restrictions

Exhibit the EDMO Vibe and demonstrating through actions and words each of the social emotional learning (SEL) skills of empathy, responsibility, initiative, collaboration, problem solving and emotion management, while also reinforcing these qualities in other staff and kids

After School Program Specifics:

Each day staff members will support students in their academics from the regular school day, provide engaging enrichment using existing EDMO curriculum, facilitate physical activity periods aligned with EDMO's company philosophy from existing outlines and best practices.
