Corrpro, a subsidiary of Aegion Corporation, is a corrosion engineering, cathodic protection, and corrosion monitoring business for the protection and preservation of infrastructure. Corrpro provides professional corrosion consulting and cathodic protection engineering services to major oil companies, government agencies, municipal water, sewer and gas utilities, universities, and public transportation agencies.
Responsibilities

* Plan and perform more complex engineering design duties for cathodic protection system projects
* Review preliminary data, discuss objectives and expectations, and suggest appropriate engineering methods and procedures
* Prepare engineering designs, specifications, and reports
* Plan and schedule activities for efficient utilization of resources
* Establish crews and assign work based on complexity of tasks and individual capacities
* Provide technical supervision and technical assistance to other divisions within the company
* Coordinate engineering aspects of installation process
* Supervise and/or perform tests required to determine condition of soil, water, underground or submerged structures

The Senior Corrosion Engineer will be responsible for performing intermediate to complex corrosion engineering and cathodic protection design on a variety of engineering tasks with moderate to limited supervision\.

+ Operate as a member of a team on multiple small to large sized projects with a basic to intermediate level of technical difficulty\.
+ Applying technical standards and procedures consistent with the task performed

Metallurgical / Corrosion Engineer

Chemours is seeking a Metallurgical / Corrosion Engineer to join our growing Engineering Technology team! This position will report directly to the Engineering Technology Manager and will be located at Newark, Delaware.

The Metallurgical / Corrosion Engineer will act as the first point of contact for metallurgical, corrosion, and materials related inquiries. They will work closely with plant site personnel and other members of the Engineering Technology team to provide material recommendations throughout Chemours. This will include fabrication and repair assistance, corrosion and welding evaluations, material selection, equipment design, and failure analysis. This position will support both US and international Chemours plant sites across multiple business units.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

+ Providing consulting services to Chemours global chemical businesses in metallurgy/materials engineering and related technologies, including technical support to plant operations and capital projects

+ Assisting in materials selection of chemical process industry equipment including, but not limited to, pressure vessels, piping, tubing, and valves

+ Networking with company resources and cross-functional teams to achieve timely solutions to business problems

+ Assist in providing technical recommendations and perform all job duties while adhering to and embodying Chemours Safety obsession.

+ Assist in providing guidance on fabrication and repair techniques as well as inspection and condition assessments of existing equipment

+ Work closely with plant personnel to understand various chemical processes, potential failure mechanisms, and inspection techniques.

+ Traveling to plant sites and fabrication shops for face-to-face interactions (approximately 25%)

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

+ BS or MS in Metallurgical, Materials, or Corrosion Engineering. Candidates with BS or MS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering that have demonstrated proficiency in metallurgy, corrosion, and/or materials engineering will also be considered.

+ 0-5 year of experience in chemical manufacturing, metals processing, and/or R&D in similar fields

+ Comfortable working in a team environment; high degree of initiative and self-motivation; flexibility to monitor and move projects forward quickly and safely

+ Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and a "hands-on" attitude

+ Demonstrated oral and written communication skills necessary to present integrated engineering solutions to all levels of Chemours

+ Ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple, complex, time-sensitive projects

+ Ability to access and network with appropriate site and corporate teams to gain or share knowledge

+ Geographically flexible

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

+ Preference for GPA 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
