Job DescriptionDescription:
The Extrusion Winder Operator works under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor. Responsible for setup and maintaining one to four production lines. Provides assistance and direction to machine operators. Monitors and records correlation of strapping produced to product specifications. Troubleshoots production problems and communicates problems to Foreman. Performs minor maintenance on entire machine and related equipment. Performs housekeeping duties and other tasks as assigned.

Monitors temperatures in extruders and ovens and adjusts as necessary.
Observes and maintains conditions of equipment, communicates problems and writes work orders when necessary.
Makes sure that proper raw materials and additives are being used according to product specifications.
Ensures that all safety guards are in place and working properly.
Responsible for troubleshooting production problems and taking corrective action.
Cleans and maintains equipment when applicable.
Makes minor repairs as necessary such as clearing and draining water lines, checking and changing filters, clearing or changing winder arms, assisting with other maintenance.
Providing guidance and aid to machine operators as necessary.
Performs other tasks as assigned.

The Job You Will Perform:
Check for count accuracy and conformance to specification
Double check for quality issues, communicating them to control room operator or wet end operator
Measure finished sheet for accuracy
Insert Proper load tags into finished “measured” units
Check unit for appearance
Operate count station and load tag printer
Restack non-conforming units
Hand-flip bundles when warped, or otherwise required]
Properly document non-conforming materials onto disposition sheet
Determine whether order is complete or partial
Operator must wear all required personal protective equipment
Operator must be proficient in using/reading tape measure and safe use of utility knife
Operator must keep work areas clean and free of debris, including keeping floor clean of sheets
Operator must be able to safely lift/move up to 50lbs during regular work shift
Operator must follow lock-out/ tag-out procedures
Prepare and set in place the “Top” dunnage for unit strapping
Counting and stacking finished product

The Cup Operator will perform various cup machine related duties such as roll changes, maintain ink and fluid levels, minor mechanical adjustments as required to run efficiently. In addition, perform and complete other work as assigned by supervisor. All employees must follow all of Graphic Packaging International's safety procedures and policies.
DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:
* Follow production schedule: Receive production schedule from supervisor. Inspect orders listed on assigned machines to determine what prints are currently running and what print changes will occur during shift. Notify Warehouse to bring in needed rolls or blank carts as necessary.
* Prepare 3-4 cup machines for production: Clean mandrel turret. Inspect electrical cabinet and confirm proper settings and conditions exist for production. Use lift to load sidewall paper and use the lift connected to the machine to load the bottom stock. Load blanks on table for blank fed machine. Prepare new roll by taping edges. Thread the rolls through the feeders.
* Startup machines: Push jog button on both sides of the bottom maker to produce cups for the gripper, mandrel, and paper turrets. When cups begin feeding into the cup tube, push the run button to begin production. Record roll/blank cart numbers, linear feet run, time of roll/blank cart change, and the case number in which roll changes take place on the Production Report.
* Maintain fluid levels: Maintain and stock adcote, mineral oil, and silicone levels as necessary.
* Troubleshoot: Clean machine tooling as needed. Make temperature adjustments as specified by guidelines. Facilitate testing as necessary. When notified of leaker problem, follow leaker correction procedure. For large problems, notify Maintenance by using the intercom and turning on the machine's maintenance light.
* Maintain Setting for Prints: Keep machine and area clean. Wipe off oil, ink, paper dust, and poly deposits in and around the machine. Use the air hose to blow out paper and oil buildup. Keep floor free of oil and paper dust. Keep area clear of hazards. Empty barrels by dumping cups, blanks and paper scrap in dumpsters or in shredders where applicable.
* Housekeeping: Keep machine and area clean. Wipe off oil, ink, paper dust, and poly deposits in and around the machine. Use the air hose to blow out paper and oil buildup. Keep floor free of oil and paper dust. Keep area clear of hazards. Empty barrels by dumping cups, blanks and paper scrap in dumpsters or in shredders where applicable.
* Cover for other Cup Operators: Operate the machines of other cup operators while they take their breaks, if there is no break person.
Monthly Cleaning: Follow given machine cleaning checklist. Notify supervisor, maintenance or group leader of any problem(s) discovered. Turn checklist into supervisor.
* Responsible for assuring production of products consistent with established food safety, sanitation and quality standards.
* Other responsibilities as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to frequently and safely carry and lift scrap buckets of approximately 30 lbs. Must be willing to work overtime. and stand continuously is required.
TRAINING PROVIDED: On-the-job training provided by a designated trainer. Training period is approximately 6 - 8 weeks and will be on DAY SHIFT.
