CORT Furniture Rental is **hiring** **immediately** for full-time non-CDL drivers in **Parma, Ohio** ! The Delivery Driver works collaboratively as part of the Operations team. You will be responsible for loading furniture and delivering safely to customers' homes or office spaces. You will also be assembling furniture for the customer and going above and beyond to ensure a positive customer experience.
**Pay:** $20 / hour
**Schedule:** Standard is Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm; some flexibility or overtime may be required

**Responsibilities**
+ Start your day at our warehouse where you'll meet to review your route, safety topics, and more with the operations team
+ Drive a 26-foot box truck with a lift gate and ramp to customers' homes or offices
+ Unload, deliver, and install furniture while interacting with customers
+ Assist in the warehouse as needed; this may require loading and unloading furniture
**Qualifications**
+ High school diploma or GED equivalent
+ 21 years of age or older
+ Valid and current driver's license in the state of residency
+ A minimum of 3 months professional experience driving a 24-foot box truck or larger commercial vehicle; 1 year of experience preferred
+ Physically able and willing to move furniture indoors, outdoors, up or down stairs and in all weather conditions; ability to lift 100+ pounds with a partner
+ Ability to comply with Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration regulations
+ Per FMSCA Regulations: Drivers must read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.
+ Ability to maintain a valid DOT Medical Evaluator Certificate, which includes passing a physical and drug screening
+ Ability to successfully pass a road test based on FMCSA/CORT requirements

Basic Qualifications:

POSITION SUMMARY:
To serve our customers by safely and efficiently transporting product from the warehouse by driving a tractor trailer to various customers and properly delivering and unloading product according to customer invoices and company standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safely transports product from the warehouse to the customer location and ensures product is delivered on a timely basis, according to assigned route.
Unloads product from trailer, by hand or using hand cart down ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions and places in designated customer storage areas according to customer specifications and company standards (e.g. handling product according to preferred work methods, scanning product as it is delivered into the store).
Picks up, loads and unloads damaged goods and customer returns, and transports products back to SYGMA warehouse.
Ensures all paperwork is completed according to established company and governmental guidelines (e.g. DOT electronic or manual logs, inspections, company vehicle maintenance reports and pre and post-trip reports are completed accurately and submitted on a timely basis, ensures all invoices are accurate and turned in daily and all damages and shortages are reported promptly).
Ensures all food safety protocols are met according to established guidelines (e.g. proper temperatures are maintained in the delivery vehicle, product is inspected for visible damages prior to delivery, product is delivered and stored to prevent cross contamination) and maintains sanitary conditions in tractor and trailer; assists with maintaining sanitary conditions in the warehouse and yard.
Follows preferred work methods at all times, and immediately advises management team of any unsafe conditions.
Maintains and safely operates all assigned equipment, including but not limited to hand cart, pallets, load bars, SLS unit, and personal protective equipment.
Develops and establishes good relationships with customers by providing excellent and courteous service with clear communication.
Communicates with management team regarding any deviations to route, trailer or loading issues and/or customer or product issues.
Safely transports product picked up via backhauls and line hauls and ensures picked up product is correct and is delivered on a timely basis, according to established company standards.
Works assigned schedule and works outside usual work schedule as needed to meet customer needs; exhibits regular and predictable attendance. Other duties as assigned by Management.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma/GED/equivalent degree, plus 1 year of tractor trailer driving experience preferred. Completion of a tractor trailer driving school will be accepted instead of, or in addition to a high school diploma.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Unloads product from trailer, by hand or using a hand cart down ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions and places in designated customer storage areas according to customer specifications and company standards (e.g., handling product according to preferred work methods, scanning product as it is delivered into the store).
Ensures all paperwork is completed according to established company and governmental guidelines (e.g., DOT electronic or manual logs, inspections, company vehicle maintenance reports and pre- and post-trip reports are completed accurately and submitted on a timely basis, ensures all invoices are accurate and turned in daily and all damages and shortages are reported promptly).
Ensures all food safety protocols are met according to established guidelines (e.g., proper temperatures are maintained in the delivery vehicle, product is inspected for visible damages prior to delivery, product is delivered and stored to prevent cross contamination) and maintains sanitary conditions in tractor and trailer; assists with maintaining sanitary conditions in the warehouse and yard.
Develops and establishes good relationships with customers by providing excellent and courteous service with clear communication.
Other duties as assigned by Management.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma/GED/equivalent degree, plus one (1) year of tractor trailer driving experience preferred Completion of a tractor trailer driving school will be accepted instead of, or in addition to a high school diploma.
Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.
CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License. Must be insurable to operate a vehicle as a condition of initial and continued employment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of: DOT regulations; Hazmat guidelines; Safe lifting and delivery practices.
Skill in: driving over long distances, over a variety of terrains and in varying weather conditions, communicating with customers; solving problems; delivering product.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Safely transports product from the warehouse to the customer location and ensures product is delivered on a timely basis, according to assigned route.

Picks up, loads and unloads damaged goods and customer returns, and transports products back to SYGMA warehouse.
Ensures all paperwork is completed according to established company and governmental guidelines (e.g. DOT electronic or manual logs, inspections, company vehicle maintenance reports and pre and post-trip reports are completed accurately and submitted on a timely basis, ensures all invoices are accurate and turned in daily and all damages and shortages are reported promptly).

POSITION SUMMARY:
To serve our customers by safely and efficiently transporting product from the warehouse by driving a tractor trailer to various customers and properly delivering and unloading product according to customer invoices and company standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safely transports product from the warehouse to the customer location and ensures product is delivered on a timely basis, according to assigned route.
Unloads product from trailer, by hand or using hand cart down ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions and places in designated customer storage areas according to customer specifications and company standards (e.g. handling product according to preferred work methods, scanning product as it is delivered into the store).
Picks up, loads and unloads damaged goods and customer returns, and transports products back to SYGMA warehouse.
Ensures all paperwork is completed according to established company and governmental guidelines (e.g. DOT electronic or manual logs, inspections, company vehicle maintenance reports and pre and post-trip reports are completed accurately and submitted on a timely basis, ensures all invoices are accurate and turned in daily and all damages and shortages are reported promptly).
Ensures all food safety protocols are met according to established guidelines (e.g. proper temperatures are maintained in the delivery vehicle, product is inspected for visible damages prior to delivery, product is delivered and stored to prevent cross contamination) and maintains sanitary conditions in tractor and trailer; assists with maintaining sanitary conditions in the warehouse and yard.
Follows preferred work methods at all times, and immediately advises management team of any unsafe conditions.
Maintains and safely operates all assigned equipment, including but not limited to hand cart, pallets, load bars, SLS unit, and personal protective equipment.
Develops and establishes good relationships with customers by providing excellent and courteous service with clear communication.
Communicates with management team regarding any deviations to route, trailer or loading issues and/or customer or product issues.
Safely transports product picked up via backhauls and line hauls and ensures picked up product is correct and is delivered on a timely basis, according to established company standards.
Works assigned schedule and works outside usual work schedule as needed to meet customer needs; exhibits regular and predictable attendance. Other duties as assigned by Management.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma/GED/equivalent degree, plus 1 year of tractor trailer driving experience preferred. Completion of a tractor trailer driving school will be accepted instead of, or in addition to a high school diploma.

Position Purpose:
Food and food service delivery Drivers fulfill a critical role in the country's food supply chain. Our delivery drivers not only make sure the customers' products arrive at their destination at the arranged times and in good condition, but they are the face of our company - building lasting relationships with our customers!
Delivery Drivers start out early AM at their prospective HUB and begin their daily route. The driver will typically offload 10-12K pounds of freight each day with the aid of a hand truck/dolly. Product is shipped in plastic totes and/or boxes depending on merchandise. The driver will be responsible for offloading product at designated locations and checking invoices, picking up empty totes as needed, pre-post trip inspections, and other duties as assigned.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Driver - SCM is responsible for driving a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight and drive and drop routes for the purpose of delivering and/or unloading food and food related products to customers in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
Performs all required safety checks (i.e., pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; inspects tractor/truck and trailer to insure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed. Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required.
Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies. Immediately reports all safety hazards.
Inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
Performs count check of items and check customer invoices of products that have been loaded.
Checks and completes in an accurate and in legible fashion all required paperwork associated with freight.
Moves tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed.
Drives to and delivers customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule.
Unloads products from the trailer, transports items into designated customer storage areas.
Performs damage control checks on items, scans, and contact supervisor about removing orders according to company policy.
Verifies delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures.
Collects money (cash or checks) where required.
Loads customer returns on to trailer and secures trailer doors.
Ensures that tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or always secured.
Unloads damaged goods and customer returns and bring to the driver check-in and complete necessary paperwork.
Unloads all equipment, materials and remove trash from trailers as required.
Completes daily record of hours of service and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
Performs general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean as required. At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
