We are seeking a responsible and highly motivated Research Associate to join the Johnston, IA Genomics lab's Molecular Characterization team. This is a lab-based position which requires the ability to work efficiently both independently as well as in a team environment, follow, develop, and troubleshoot protocols and deliver high quality results on time. You will apply state-of-the-art techniques in support of the Biotechnology gene editing pipeline and document experimental data accurately into database systems. This role will coordinate with various laboratories to support Corteva scientists as they seek to improve crops through conventional breeding and genetic engineering. You will partner with our colleagues across the organization to provide agile and flexible analytical solutions to answer their experimental questions. What You'll Do: This role's primary responsibility will be providing molecular biology lab support by: * Maintaining a reliable molecular screening pipeline to support the discovery, characterization, and development of genome editing applications. * Managing a constantly changing workload appropriately and effectively to ensure that project timelines are met * Operating and maintaining molecular laboratory equipment * Ensuring that all materials necessary for production are prepared properly, safely and on time * Documenting details of weekly production data with an ability to analyze and interpret results * Recording pertinent information in proprietary and standard software applications * Participating in new technology development or process improvement studies What Skills You Need: Bachelor's degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field.
