1893

Cosco was founded in 1893 and evolved to become a leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of Stamps, Signs, Knives and Stationery products for the home and office markets.

1941

In 1941, the company began using the Cosco brand name, a contraction of COlumbus Specialty COmpany.

1961

Founded in 1961, it was one of China’s largest dry bulk carriers and one of the largest dry bulk shipping operators worldwide.

1988

In 1988, DOREL acquired COSCO, making COSCO a part of Dorel Juvenile.

1993

In 1993, the company became a holding company and renamed as China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company.

1996

The production of table tennis balls has been stopped as the plant and machinery have been completely gutted in a fire which broke out in May 1996.

1997

China Shipping (Group) Company was a Chinese state-owned multinational transportation conglomerate founded in 1997 by a merger of three Chinese Government-owned shipping conglomerates, based in Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Dalian respectively.

2006

Cosco was acquired by Taylor Corporation in 2006.
