1994

Of the two companies, Xando Inc. was founded first, formed in October 1994 by three childhood friends.

In October 1994, Stenzler and his friends unveiled their concept, which at first was called ZuZu.

1999

In October 1999, Così merged with Xando (formerly ZuZu).

In 1999, the company posted a net loss of $34.5 million.

2000

In September 2000, the company entered the Midwest market for the first time, establishing a restaurant in Chicago.

Revenues for 2000 were expected to reach $50 million.

2001

The company failed to reach its goal of $100 million in sales in 2001, but the shortfall was far from its most pernicious weakness.

2002

2002: Cosi, Inc. completes its initial public offering of stock.

In 2002, this company was launched as a public company.

2003

2014

In March 2014, Così's largest and most successful franchisee, RJ Dourney was voted by Così's board of directors to the position of CEO and Director and Così announced it was moving its corporate headquarters from Deerfield, Illinois to Boston, Massachusetts.

2016

However, in August 2016, CEO RJ Dourney was fired.
