Paul Davis of North Atlanta is currently looking for a Job Cost Accountant. Paul Davis of North Atlanta does emergency Mitigation work, as well as restoration and remodeling. We assist residential and commercial property owners put their homes and businesses together after a traumatic event.

Duties & Responsibilities


You will report to the Controller. All aspects of the monthly accounting cycle, financial statements and job cost reporting will be part of your responsibility.

You will learn how to create and maintain internal controls and procedures to be sure that the financial statements and project results are accurate and timely.




Office Administration



Professionally represent the Paul Davis Values and Basics. May be on rotation during some portion of the day to receive and distribute incoming calls, including understanding how to process a job assignment an enter it into our project management software.


General Accounting and Job Management


This is a growing business, so we are constantly working toward more efficient and scalable procedures. The most important attribute for success initially is to be very accurate, using the information provided.

In Accounting we are not only preparing financial statements, but we provide ad hoc reports to assist other people in the company. We are a team, and the right candidate should be thinking about how we can better serve the rest of the company.


Accounts Payable



Receive and enter vendor invoices, then distribute for approval Reconcile vendor bills and statements, to be sure all invoices are entered and paid on time Reconcile credit cards according to schedule Determine which invoices to include in the weekly check run according to payment terms and due dates Update and maintain vendor files

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance
• 3 years of progressive experience in public or private accounting
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Strong financial analysis and problem-solving skills

Preferred Education and Experience Requirements

• Previous experience with SAP

Title: Cost Accountant
Department: Accounting
Immediate Supervisor: Controller
Status: Exempt
Position Purpose: Lead financial person on site reporting to offsite plant controller. Responsible for tracking and calculating operating costs, prepare summaries of variance reports and implement accounting policies and procedures for the manufacturing plant

Principle Accountabilities
• The Cost Accountant is a key member of the Finance Operations team and is the owner of continuous plant financial analysis using facts, data, and financial analysis tools to ensure plant profitability is constantly being maximized. This includes reducing manufacturing costs and maximizing product financial returns. This position is the "financial eyes and ears" of the factory working closely with the Operations Management team to understand, analyze and challenge the operations from a financial perspective.
• Set up and maintain integrity of cost accounting models.
• Valuation of inventory.
• Monitoring of cycle count activities to ensure compliance with Corporate Inventory policies and procedures.
• Assistance with the preparation of plant financial statements, variance accurately reported and understood weekly/monthly. Complete financial analysis using plant data and have strong understanding how data translates to overall plant performance.
• Reporting of capital spending/capital project reporting.
• Assistance in the annual budget process and year end audit, as required.
• Prepare product costing, monthly profitability and waste reports and ad hoc cost analysis, as required.
• Assumes additional related responsibilities, as required.

Essential Skills and Experience
• Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Accounting or Finance
• CMA preferred, or desire to obtain certification.
• Experience in Cost Analysis and Inventory financial controls.
• Experience in Microsoft Excel at an advanced level.
• Experience in Shop Floor and Management Execution Systems (MES)
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization in a professional manner.
• Ability to adapt to changing needs and prioritize to meet deadlines.
• Work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multi-tasking and manage priorities on a daily basis.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to problem solve and think "big picture."
