General Purpose The primary purpose of your job position is to provide each of your assigned residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the resident's assessment and care plan, and as may be directed by your supervisors.
• Use the wristband or photo card file to identify residents before administering treatments, serving meals, etc., as necessary.
• Use only authorized abbreviations established by this facility when recording information.
• Report all changes in the resident's condition to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse as soon as practical.
• Record all entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, etc., in an informative, descriptive manner.
• Report all accidents and incidents you observe on the shift that they occur.
• Agree not to disclose resident's protected health information and promptly report suspected or known violations of such disclosure to the Administrator.
• Report any known or suspected unauthorized attempt to access facility's information system.
• Perform only those nursing care procedures that you have been trained to do.
• Ensure that the resident's room is ready for receiving the resident (i.e., bed made, name tags up, admission kit available, etc.).
• Greet residents and escort them to their room.
• Introduce resident to his/her roommate, if any, and other residents and personnel as appropriate.
• Make resident comfortable.
• Inventory and mark the resident's personal possessions as instructed.
• Store resident's clothing.
• Assist residents with packing their personal possessions when they are being transferred to a new room, or when being discharged.
• Transport residents to new rooms or to the receiving area.
• Assist with loading/unloading residents' to/from vehicles as necessary.
• Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the unit and shift.
• Meet with your shift's nursing personnel, on a regularly scheduled basis, to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas, and/or the improvement of services.
• Report all complaints and grievances made by the resident.
• Participate in and receive the nursing report as instructed.
• Follow established policies concerning exposure to blood/body fluids.
• Make beds as instructed.
• Put extra covers on beds as requested.
• Measure and record temperatures, pulses, and respirations (TPRs) of residents, as instructed. Weigh and measure residents as instructed.
• Ensure that residents who are unable to call for help are checked frequently.
• Answer resident calls promptly.
• Check residents routinely to ensure that their personal care needs are being met.
• Assist residents with identifying food arrangements (i.e., informing resident with sight problem of foods that are on his/her tray, where it is located, if it is hot/cold, etc.).
• Record the resident's food/fluid intake. Report changes in the resident's eating habits to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
• Keep residents' water pitchers clean and filled with fresh water (on each shift), and within easy reach of the resident.
• Perform after meal care (i.e., remove trays, clean resident's hands, face, clothing, etc.).
• Participate in and receive the nursing report upon reporting for duty.
• Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with our established policies and procedures, and as instructed by your supervisors.
• Follow work assignments, and/or work schedules in completing and performing your assigned tasks.
• Cooperate with inter-departmental personnel, as well as other facility personnel to ensure that nursing services can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of the residents.
• Notify the facility when you will be late or absent from work.
• Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals in accordance with the facility's policies and procedures governing accidents and incidents.
• Assist residents with daily functions (dental and mouth care, bath functions, combing of hair, dressing and undressing as necessary).
• Keep residents dry (change gown, clothing and linens, when it becomes wet or soiled).
• Assist residents in preparing for medical tests (i.e., lab work, x-ray, therapy, dental, etc.).
• Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc.
• Perform restorative and rehabilitative procedures as instructed.
• Assist in preparing the resident for a physical examination.
• Check each resident routinely to ensure that his/her personal care needs are being met in accordance with his/her wishes.
• Observe and report the presence of pressure areas and skin breakdowns to prevent decubitus ulcers (bedsores).
• Report injuries of an unknown source, including skin tears.
• Observe disoriented and comatose residents. Record and report data as instructed
• Perform special treatments as instructed.
• Immediately notify the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse of any resident leaving/missing from the facility.
• Use only the equipment you have been trained to use.
• Report defective equipment to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse
• Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information.
• Report all allegations of resident abuse and/or misappropriation of resident property.
• Honor the resident's refusal of treatment request. Report such requests to your supervisor.

Education and/or Experience Must possess, as a minimum, an 10th grade education

Mathematical Skills Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Under the general supervision of the Supervisor, Comparative Medicine - Operations, the Operations Technician I (OTI) is responsible for performing routine duties related to the operation within the Clean and Soiled Operations areas, including sanitization of animal cages and their accessories, stagging clean supplies, handling disinfectants, maintaining the areas clean and organized as well as operating and maintaining equipment such as rack washers, tunnel washers, steam autoclaves, bedding dispensers, bedding dump stations, and bottle filling stations. The incumbent will operate through Comparative Medicine (CM) facilities. They will also be responsible for assembly, distribution, and storage of supplies and equipmentand retrieval of dirty caging from husbandry.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Following applicable SOPs, manages detergents and disinfectants used in the area including monitoring levels in the rack and tunnel washers, preparation of solutions, assessment of their concentrations, use, waste, and documentation.
Organizes, sorts and processes cages and accessories that come to the soiled side of cage wash following proper procedures, safety guidelines and lean management principles.
Follows proper procedures, runs quality control checks through the equipment including but not limited to temperature indicators and spore vials, logs the tasks and reports to the Supervisor or the Operations Technician III if the machines do not meet the standards.
Understands the operation of the different machines used in cage wash including but not limited to rack washers, tunnel washers, autoclaves, bedding dispensers, bedding dump stations, and water bottle filling stations.
Maintains machines used in cage wash clean and in good working conditions and reports issues to the Supervisor.
Maintains the cage wash and ancillary areas including but not limited to storage areas, feed and bedding rooms, and loading docks in an orderly and clean state.
Cleans and disinfects vertical and horizontal surfaces at the frequency set in the SOPs or more often if needed.
Understands and practices safety procedures in each working location including but not limited to biosafety, ergonomics, thermal and allergy protection.
Identifies, and segregates the waste, (e.g cardboard vs soiled bedding vs biohazard waste) and disposes of it following applicable SOPs and EHS guidelines.
Operates support equipment including but not limited to electric pallet jack, Ergo lift, pressure washer, floor buffer, and ride on scrubber.
Assists with weekly and monthly maintenance and sanitization of vivarium support areas and animal holding rooms on a rotation basis.
Participates in site visits and/or inspections as requested by Supervisor and/or oversight agencies, e.g., CSMC IACUC, AAALAC, USDA.
Qualifications
Education:
High school graduate or GED is required.
Certifications/Licenses:
Must have a valid California driver's license.
Experience and Skills:
Technical warehouse and logistics experience is required.
Experience required with unpacking and sorting items when receiving boxed and palleted deliveries.
Experience required with standard and electronic pallet jacks, as well as the use of pallet truck stoppers.
Experience required with dolly for transporting chemical barrels, including but not limited to, pneumatic dock levelers.
Able to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions in English.

The Allied Health School (AHS) Educator is responsible for the development and implementation of curriculum designed to prepare students for successful careers in various allied health fields. The AHS Educator is responsible for ensuring the delivery and teaching of the material as well as maintaining administrative components of education system including grading, reviewing polices & creating testing standards.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Formulates and revises orientation manuals, course materials, lectures, and tests to ensure curriculum incorporates evidence based practices and meets accreditation and standards as well as medical center expectations. Implements and reviews program policies and procedures in partnership with the AHS Program Director.
Independently develops and teaches introductory & core courses in their area of specialization. Responsible for developing courses for online instruction and multiple technologies while supporting a diverse population of learning needs. Develops learning modules, hands on activities, assessments and multimedia content that address various learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, etc.). Continually assess the effectiveness of instructional methods and adjusts as needed.
Advises and teaches students, leads lab skill demonstrations, practice & testing of students. Provides guidance and support to students to ensure they meet learning objectives and are prepared for professional certification.
Responsible for the planning and oversight of student clinical rotations across CSMC affiliate locations and periodically evaluates the quality, contribution and appropriateness of all clinical preceptors participating in clinical instruction. Directs and advises students on developing research and advancing knowledge in their field of specialty through in-person teaching and training. Maintains ongoing communication with medical center staff as to clinical schedules and status of student experience.
Serves on educational committees and participates in the broader development of the Allied Health School and disciplinary committees.
Responsible for the organization, administration, review & maintenance of performance and educational records on all students within the AHS clinical program.
In collaboration with the AHS Program Director may assists with recruiting new students, screening applications, and interviewing potential students for the training program.

Responsible for maintaining skills in adult and pediatric general ward therapy RT procedures including set up, monitoring of free flow O2 therapy systems bland aerosol systems; medicinal aerosol systems; volume expansion techniques/devices; bronchial hygiene techniques/devices; CPR ; Management of Adult Ventilator Systems including setup/monitoring of continuous invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilator systems, specialty gases and related monitoring and supportive adjuncts used on adult patient populations including arterial puncture for blood gas analysis.
Identifies & cultivates opportunities for students to participate in research, publication and white papers for case studies.
Maintains skills in Newborn and Pediatric Ventilator Systems including setup/management of: continuous invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilator systems, specialty gases and related monitoring and supportive adjuncts including Capillary Heel Stick Venipuncture for infant blood gas analysis.
Maintains skills in performance of Emergency Department RT procedures: Set-up/monitoring of Adult and Pediatric Invasive and Non-invasive ventilator systems and adjuncts.
QualificationsRequirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy, Education or related Field.
6 years of experience as a licensed Respiratory Therapist, registered by NBRC.
5 years of experience being trained and independently functional in all shift-specific, adult care subspecialty patient services offered by CSMC Respiratory Care Service.
1 year of experience & knowledge of adult learning theory, educational technology & methodology.
1 year of experience in developing and implementing educational programs. Broad base of knowledge related to clinical practice, evidence based practice and supporting an infrastructure focusing on front line/bedside staff member involvement.
Required Licenses Upon Hire:
Current BLS certification.
Current PALS required to work in the Emergency Department.
Current ACLS certification current & valid at all times
Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program

The Research Bioinformatician I will perform general bioinformatics analysis and software support for projects involving in omics. The RB I member will manage omic data including loading and querying data from database systems and public repositories, and transforms and merges multilevel omic data into user-friendly formats. The incumbent assists in development, testing, and maintenance of modular software pipelines for genome sequencing, provides daily bioinformatics data analysis, preliminary interpretation of the data, and reports of the results for possible publications.
