1870

They were truly one of Costa Mesa’s first families of the 1870’s.

1963

Beginning in 1963 when he was in charge of both the Police and Fire departments, he was affectionately called “Super Chief” by his employees.

1967

In March 1967, Henry T. Segerstrom, along with his cousin Hal T. Segerstrom, Jr., opened a shopping center called South Coast Plaza in one of the family's lima bean fields in rapidly growing Orange County.

1975

Sharon Lozzi - After graduating at the top of her class from the Orange County Sheriff's Training Academy in 1975, Sharon Lozzi joined the Costa Mesa Police Department as the first female officer.

2014

Former Costa Mesa Mayor Norma Hertzog was the recipient of the Mayor's Award at the 2nd Annual Celebrating the Art of Leadership event in 2014.
