Kristen Scott Kennedy is a Chief Of Staff at Council on Foundations and is based in Washington, D.C.. Brian joined SFI in July of 2019 to move back into the environmental sector to leverage his skills improving organizational effectiveness. His experience includes for-profit and not-for-profit knowledge in financial analysis & valuation, individual & corporate tax, compliance, internal controls and project & program management. Brian is passionate about the non-profit sector and spends much of his time contributing to the design and implementation of tracking mechanisms and metrics to align with strategic business plans. He has a proven record of aligning strategic initiatives with revenue and expense management to reduce deficit cycles and enhance value. Prior to joining SFI, he worked for the Council on Foundations and Ocean Conservancy.Aside from his broad range of technical skills, Brian’s strongest asset lies in his ability to unite and lead individuals to solve problems and advance strategic goals. Brian began his career in the banking industry, later transitioning those skills to public accounting where he specialized in consulting and auditing financial institutions. Originally from Madisonville, Kentucky, Brian has a bachelor’s degree in business, a minor in economics and a master’s degree in accounting. Brian is a Certified Public Accountant in the District of Columbia and also holds a Certified Management Accountant credential.

Margaret Bandera, CPA is a Chief Operating Officer at Council on Foundations and is based in Greater Philadelphia Area. She has worked as Project Accountant at EXXON MOBIL CORP; Business Manager (CFO) at meadowbrook school; and Certified Public Accountant - Senior Associate at Baum, Smith & Clemens, LLP. Margaret works or has worked as MEMBER at AICPA. She studied at USC Marshall School of Business until 2008 and Red River College until 1983.
