POSITION SUMMARY: The Behavioral Health Therapist is responsible for providing comprehensive, client focused mental health assessment and treatment utilizing individual, group and family modalities to people affected and infected with HIV/AIDS; LGBTQ clients; and the community at large. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to diagnosis and treatment of clients with behavioral health concerns; traveling; driving; utilizing a computer for typing and conducting research; attending meetings; conducting assessments and counseling; and producing clear, understandable, and timely notes and documentation. MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Provide high quality outpatient mental health treatment for clients who have HIV/AIDS and their families; LGBTQ clients, and the community at large. Functions as a part of a Coordinated Specialized Care Team and provides referral and linkage to appropriate services in the community, within parameters of the funding sources. Outpatient services to include: Provides individual, family and group psychotherapy, and individual/family psychoeducation to individuals (ages 15-35) with first episode of psychosis and individuals (ages 15-35) with early severe mental illness. Psychotherapy services include enhancement of: psychological and social functioning; self-esteem; coping abilities; vocational, educational and social opportunities. Develops and maintains Individual Service Plans. Provides client with linkage to appropriate resources, including psychiatry, case management, supported employment. Provides services in an integrated manner and appropriate level of intensity. Provides training, including in-services and preceptorships as needed and directed by supervisor. Performs related administrative functions including submitting data tracking, required assessments, and external trainings as directed. Attends designated meetings. Consults in program planning and evaluation. Work collaboratively with team members to market and promote agency treatment options for patients with FEP/ESMI. Completes all required case documentation within 24 hours, including collateral contacts following agency policy and best practices. Other duties as assigned. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or closely related field required, Master's preferred. Licensure required (LSW/LISW/LPC/LPCC). Minimum two (2) years related experience in the mental health field preferred. Position also requires working knowledge of the Recovery Model, and DSM-5, Supervisory and Team-building skills; knowledge of community resources; strong interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills; and sensitivity to the cultural needs of each client.
