What You'll Do
Provide diagnostic evaluations and psycho-social assessments for patients with mental health or substance use challenges
Deliver individual and group psychotherapy for a diverse caseload, including patients with HIV/AIDS, chemical dependency, and other concerns
Collaborate with patients, families, and specialized treatment programs to build treatment plans and monitor progress
Supervise Behavioral Health Counselors through individual and group sessions
Review documentation and correspondence completed by BH Counselors
Maintain the department's At-Risk log
Provide in-service training to medical staff on identifying and managing mental health and substance use issues
Collaborate with other department directors to ensure integrated care
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Act as a mandated reporter in suspected child abuse cases
Attend department, staff, and committee meetings; contribute to quality improvement initiatives
Provide monthly updates to the Director of Behavioral Health
Perform other duties as assigned

POSITION LEVEL:
Responsible to the Cottage Manager
POSITION OBJECTIVES:
To help create and maintain a healthful, safe, and therapeutic environment for the children in the cottage(s)
To help implement each child's individual treatment goals.
To provide positive role models for children in the care of the Agency.
To ensure that the basic psychological needs of the children for nurturance, structure, and counseling are met.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB:
Supervision of the cottage environment as it pertains to knowing the whereabouts of each youngster at all times is an essential job responsibility of the Youth Care Specialist. Report missing children immediately to the Administrator on Duty or Cottage Manager.
Provide support to children in crises through the use of therapeutic crisis intervention techniques.
Provide input to treatment team meetings for the planning of each child's treatment goal(s) and techniques.
Help implement individual treatment plans with each child.
Act as a positive role model for the children by engaging in activities productively and in support of accepted societal norms and values.
Instruct, guide, and assist children in the following areas:
a. Organization and care of clothing and personal belongings
b. Selection and coordination of dress
c. Personal health, grooming, and hygiene
d. Personal habits and conduct
e. Social conduct and interaction in the cottage and the William George community
f. Constructive use of leisure time

Help children develop trusting relationships by actively engaging in activities with them and by expression of caring through role modeling, life space interviews, and constructive discipline. Be where children are (during waking hours); walk with them to and from Ewald Dining Center for meals, and other program activities, (e.g., school) to provide ego support.
Help children abide by the established cottage rules and the Agency policies and procedures
Supervise and help children in the performance of house jobs.
Inventory and mark clothing and personal belongings of children.
Collect and store clothing and belongings of children who are absent without leave (AWOL).
Supervise children's manners and behavior during meals at Ewald Dining Center.
Be informed about the health needs of the children, and monitor self-administration of medications according to the State Education Department and the Office of Children and Family Services.
Store medications in the locked areas and cabinets provided in each cottage.
Refer children to the Health Services Department for all medical problems and examination and treatment by the nurses and physician
Participate in, and supervise children at campus recreational activities.
Evaluate children's performance on the daily level system evaluation sheets according to the guidelines and individual goals, and review them with the children to encourage progress.
Prepare written incident reports on critical incidents and forward them to the Cottage Manager.
Participate in the Unit/Cottage meeting, providing pertinent observations to the Cottage Manager.
Transport children to off-campus appointments and for travel home as assigned.
Responsible for adhering to and performing all duties in accordance with every safety standard, practice, and policy of The William George Agency. This includes but is not limited to, a review of The William George Agency's Safety Policy and attending all required safety-related training.
Perform other duties assigned.

Primary Addiction Counselor- Cayuga Addiction Recovery Services Cortland- Full Time- Days

The PAC is responsible for positive, collaborative relationships with clients, their families, the CARS' team and community partners. The PAC provides research-based assessment, counseling (individual, family, and group), crisis and clinical interventions, and case management services, including discharge planning, while assuring regulatory compliance.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Conduct individual, group, and family counseling sessions along with planning and conducting special activities, as assigned.
Address addictive and unhealthy behaviors with the most appropriate clinical intervention per agency guidelines.
Be on time with client administrative paperwork activities including but not limited to: Assessments, Treatment Plans, and Discharge Summaries, document activities in accordance with agency practices, complete timely monthly reporting on time, and document group attendance in a timely manner.
Monitor and maintain the safety and security of the clients and the facility.
Maintain confidentiality, as per agency practices and confidentiality law.
Effectively communicate with the team and community partners regarding client needs
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in human services or related field; or equivalent combination of education and SUD experience total 4 years. QHP status required.
A basic understanding of addiction and recovery issues.
Knowledge of basic counseling techniques, including treatment planning is essential.
Working knowledge of motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, strength-based principle of treatment and an individualized approach to treatment is desired.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Master's degree with 4+ years SUD experience.

The Residential Counselor works to assure that quality childcare services are delivered within a residential group care facility, according to agency policy and all applicable state and federal, OMH regulations. This includes participation in the childcare schedule and calendar and ensuring the continuity and quality of service to the residents. The Residential Counselor II is responsible for assisting in the implementation of department goals and programs, youth treatment plans, and daily living and care. Primary Job Functions
Assists in the provision of overall oversight to the residential program, supervision of staff in the care of youth in accordance to all Glove House, state and regulatory requirements.

Pay Scale
Base Rate Pay: Associate's Degree or 3 years minimum experience $20.50
Mid-Range Pay: Bachelor's Degree or 6+ years of experience $23.50
Top Rate Pay: Bachelors/Associate's Degree and 10+ years of experience, $26.50 or 15+ years of experience (no degree)
Employees will receive either equal experience or half experience credit based on the following:
Equal Experience: All time within a Community Residence, Residential Treatment Facility, Qualified Residential Treatment Program, or Inpatient Facility.
Half Experience: Certified Nurses Assistant, Behavioral Health Tech, Therapy Aid, Direct Support Professional, or similar roles.
