Summary of Responsibilities
A Behavioral Health Practitioner (BHP) works under the direction and supervision of a Clinical Manager, providing community-based behavioral health services to individuals with psychiatric illness, substance use issues and/or co-occurring disorders. The BHP must be open and willing to work with culturally and gender diverse groups and individuals to facilitate goals of self-efficacy. The schedule is flexible, as determined by the person served' s needs and may include early morning, evening or weekend appointments. The position may involve services provided in the designated BHS clinic, driving to persons served homes or various locations within the community where services are provided (if services are offered on-site according to the program and funding source.) It may include telehealth services utilizing both audio and visual communication with individuals. BHPs provide individual, family and group counseling, crisis intervention, conflict resolution, initial assessments to determine level of care, treatment planning, case presentations, presenting psychoeducational information to individuals regarding diagnosis, symptoms, medications, relapse prevention and safety planning. The BHP provides services to both children and adults. The position also includes participating in multidisciplinary case conferences and supervision, treatment plan reviews, developing aftercare treatment and all required documentation utilizing Collaborative Documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Primary focus is on providing comprehensive clinical services and therapy which includes biopsychosocial assessments, screening and placement for level of care, diagnosis, individual psychotherapy, group therapy, family therapy, brief interventions utilizing evidence-based care and tools and educational counseling services to a caseload of person's served consisting of adults and children.

Purpose & Impact:
The purpose of the Behavior Support Specialist is to perform professional work in behavior management of pre-school children, training and coaching for staff and parents, case management including referral for psycho-educational and mental health services. Responsible for developing, modeling interventions, and monitoring the child's progress and linking parents/families to mental health and/or psycho-educational services. Successful experience working with pre-school age children with behavioral concerns. The work involves linking parents/families to community services, providing support, making referrals and following up on referrals, designing and implementing classroom behavior support plans, providing mental health and behavioral management education to parents and staff, planning and consulting with the contracted mental health professionals. This work is performed under the supervision of the Licensed Mental Health Counselor and is reviewed through conferences, reports and evaluations of program effectiveness. Essential Functions:
Provides parents support to access necessary resources and conducts in-home follow-up, monitoring and training to assure consistency between parents and teachers as needed Teaches effective parenting skills.
Participates in the multi-disciplinary case management team meetings, individual and staff conferences, health services advisory meetings, team meetings and other appropriate meetings, as necessary.
Performs case management services when appropriate through referrals to mental health service providers, psycho-educational services and other appropriate community agencies and resources.

Performs crisis intervention activities when necessary.

Assist Licensed Mental Health Counselor with behavior management training and on-site technical assistance to the centers.

To expose first-year MSW student interns to the field of social work, interns learn case management, interviewing, and assessment skills through shadowing one of PD-15's mental health social workers. Interns also work with juvenile probation cases to motivate offenders to complete the requirements of probation and ideally achieve early termination of their probation early.
We accept two, first-year MSW students throughout the year.
We have MOUs with FAU, LSU, and Tulane University. Prior approval from the school is necessary.
Students may receive academic credit.
Interns are unpaid/volunteer.
A student of any other College or University is welcome to apply. Prior approval from the school is necessary.
A minimum of 16 hours a week is mandatory.
We also accept volunteers if program is not filled by students, no college credit is earned.

Position Overview
Gulliver Prep's After School Care program is seeking to hire After School Care Counselors to join their passionate team of individuals. Qualified candidates should be energetic, self-motivated, responsible, fun and dedicated and who love working with children in grades PK-4. The After School Care Counselor will be responsible for the supervision of a group of similarly aged children and will spend the majority of the afternoon with the students following the program schedule.
