A Day in the Life of a Residential Clinical Assistant Would Be:
Guiding residents through daily activities including meal time, group activities, group, and individual therapy, and ensuring an overall productive day for each patient in treatment.
Promote and maintain a safe and secure environment that allows for the proper delivery of care.
Assistant in welcoming and intaking new residents as they enter the facilities while ensuring proper comfort and warmth at the start of their new journeys.
Develops and/or conducts specialized psychoeducational groups to help patients gain additional knowledge while developing skills to aid along the journey of recovery.
Effectively communicates with all staff on-site regarding patient care and patient updates to include clinical directors, clinical therapists, nursing staff, program directors, and more.
Utilizes crisis and/or de-escalation intervention practices, when necessary and appropriate, with the patient(s) whose behavior cannot be otherwise supported without such interventions.
Monitors patient sharps and valuables and labels/handles appropriately, and reports hazards to the proper department as needed for immediate review.
Provides CPR, wound care, or medication management as needed under the direction of clinical staff.

ABOUT THE COMPANY
The Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations is a growing and developing comprehensive behavioral health organization encompassing a 45-bed capacity youth (13 to 17 years of age) residential treatment facility and outpatient clinical care. The Behavioral Intervention Specialist provides 24/7 resident-centered care by facilitating, participating, and monitoring the residents with co-occurring disorders.
DUTIES
Effectively redirect behaviors involving risk of physical harm to self or others or the destruction of property.
Successfully completes daily written reports within the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system for each client, documenting client successes and concerning behaviors.
Provides on-going assessments of progress.
Creates general strategies for behavior assessment.
Facilitates conflict resolution and crisis intervention.
Works to avoid coercive interventions from invitations to escalate or enter into conflict around insignificant behaviors.
Models direct and clear communications with peers, clients and supervisors encompassing cultural awareness and respectfulness of differences.

Successful completion of the Residential Child and Youth Care Professional (RCYCP) training preferred (may be obtained through on-the-job training at the Healing Lodge at no cost to the employee).

A Group Meeting Facilitator interacts with groups that need coaching to work productively as a team to reach a common goal. The ProSidian Consultant | Group Meeting Facilitator will coordinate, lead, and support all phases of team meetings to ensure progression and completion of work as well as supports the Global Project Lead (GPL) And Project Team, and is accountable for the quality, timeliness, and effectiveness of group meetings and/or project/taskforce initiatives and ends with delivery of the final outputs that achieve stated mission objectives.
The job of a “Group Meeting Facilitator” is more of the "conductor" than a participant throughout the Program Period. The ProSidian Group Meeting Facilitator shall serve as a consultant to clients across private companies, fortune 1,000 enterprises, and government agencies of all sizes. You direct the flow and energy throughout the program period. You observe participants' body language, listening carefully to what they say, drawing out those members who are not speaking, and gently moving group meetings and/or project/taskforce initiatives along when a member monopolizes a conversation.

Client Conference/Program Participation - select appropriate methods and tools that will enable participants to achieve results. Listen and proactively respond to client and stakeholder intentions and desires to enhance the process and achieve desired results. Help clearly define stated goals and objectives for success, both in group meetings and/or project/taskforce initiatives and beyond.
Ongoing Course Adjustments - consultative facilitation while working in close partnership with clients, meeting participants, and stakeholders throughout the program period; making the best possible use time and resources; correctly observing interests and developments, and working to enhance the process and achieve desired results. When problems or issues come up, work to resolve conflict and return to goals.
Dynamic Process Interactions - create environments that allow civil dialogue and input from all participants and above all -- remaining neutral throughout the process. Recognize that group meetings and/or project/taskforce initiatives are dynamic processes and that new insights and ideas can emerge that could significantly shift original intentions. Work to respond to those emerging trends, needs, and themes while keeping everyone focused on the clearly defined meeting objectives while achieving desired results.
Leadership Coaching/Support Initiatives - work to ensure successful implementation of primary objectives through the facilitation of cross-functional meetings and internal department level meetings. Provide real-time coaching to clients, program leadership, sub-group chairs, meeting participants, and other stakeholders on ways to enhance group meetings and/or project/taskforce initiatives focused on the clearly defined meeting objectives that achieve desired results.
Follow-Up Deliverables - work to improve the contributions from meeting participants; coordinate meeting schedules; provide assistance with creation of agendas; facilitate meetings; distribute meeting minutes, and maintain task and issues logs.
Post-Event Hot Wash / After-Action Analysis / After Action Reports - after the session is over, a complete report describing everything that went on in group meetings and/or project/taskforce initiatives shall be prepared. An organized debrief post-meeting and provide post-meeting feedback session held to provide suggestions and improvements for future meetings. All action items agreed to by the participants are documented as part of this report.
Public Involvement And Communications - foster collaboration and communication through open, ongoing and effective maintenance of knowledge repositories to include correspondence, presentations, meeting summaries, work products, and responses to information requests by ensuring distribution of requested information.
Document Retention And Knowledge Repositories - live capture of meeting discussion/decisions in Microsoft word or excel is also expected. Maintain a library per established guidelines as a repository of related information co-located with the clients, program leadership, sub-group chairs, meeting participants, and other stakeholders as the official record required (i.e. Per Federal Advisory Committee Act - FACA) for an information repository.
Program/Recommendations Implementation - help participants reach decisions and accomplish goals. Qualifications

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Paraeducators are an integral part of the learning and teaching team. Paraeducators providing behavioral support to students work closely with counselors, families and students in order to provide consistent expectations and cues across settings. Vital responsibilities for Instructional Paraeducator Behavior Specialists include promoting/implementing consistent expectations, modeling positive responses in high stress situations and maintaining consistency in crisis situations. Understanding how environment, child development, and adults' expectations impact a child's behavioral response is critical to this position. The ability to adapt and respond to individual student needs while maintaining high expectations is also an essential element of this position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
An instructional paraeducator may perform all or some of the responsibilities defined below:
* Support implementation of teacher designed instructional activities and classroom routines
* Conduct teacher/therapist-designed instructional experiences
* Work with individual and small groups of students
* Supervise, model, and teach expected behaviors across educational settings, including classrooms, lunchroom, playground, hallways, etc.
* Implement individual and school wide behavior support plans and positive interventions
* Implement district-adopted de-escalation and restraint strategies
* Foster social and language development through play activities and active engagement with children
* Promote students' best interests through positive role modeling and student advocacy
* Administer assessment materials as trained or delegated
* Assist in preparation of instructional materials and perform clerical duties associated with general instruction program
* Consistently and respectfully respond to student needs while maintaining confidentiality
* May administer medications pursuant to Board policy and pursuant to state and federal law
* Assist with care and hygiene needs, as required
* Monitor highly structured environments
* Coordinate with transportation department to arrange transportation for students at conclusion of ASD as needed and monitor students until they are on their bus or picked up by a parent or guardian.
* Perform first aid
* Implement teacher-directed programs with students on a one-to-one and/or small group basis in special education classroom as well as during general education inclusion time.
* Lead or support de-escalation/restraint procedures.
* Assist student(s) with diet, feeding, personal care, hygiene, movement, and mobility needs.
* Assist with learning tasks/activities appropriate to students with moderate to significant disabilities and aligned to IEP goals, under direction of special education teacher.
* Assist with implementation of positive support interventions and academic support for identified students.
* Provide appropriate supervision on designated bus routes.
* Collect and enter behavioral and academic data from various settings.
* Assist in preparation of behavior plans and supporting materials.
* Perform clerical duties associated with behavioral supports and instructional program.
* Serve as crisis team responder in designated buildings.
POTENTIAL ADDITIONS
* Transport students as necessary
* Provide transportation support as necessary. When transportation support is required:
* Supervise student behavior on the bus to ensure safe travel for all students and passengers
* Assist students with mobility restrictions on and off the bus
* Assist in loading and unloading of wheelchair bound students
* Assist in properly securing wheelchairs
* Work together with the driver on issues such as safety and comfort on the bus and working with the driver to ensure students are transported safely and in comfort
* Assist with management of children with special health problems, e.g. seizures
