MIRCI is continuing to improve the opportunities for the homeless in the Midlands and surrounding areas and is seeking a TLP Residential Counselor. FUNCTION: The TLP Residential Counselor - 2nd Shift will assist youth housed in MIRCI's transitional and permanent supportive housing programs in developing and refining skills to facilitate a successful transition to self-sufficient living. The TLP Residential Counselor - 2nd Shift receives direct supervision from the TLP coordinator. This position will work Monday through Friday, 3:30 pm to 11:30 pm. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience Two years of experience in the human service field preferred KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES NEEDED: Knowledge of providing supportive services and assistance to youth who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Knowledge of crisis interventions. Knowledge and ability to communicate effectively with clients and other staff members. Knowledge of basic health, welfare, and social services provided by other public and private agencies. Ability to establish and maintain effective contact with individuals, families, and representatives of other professional disciplines.
