RESPONSIBILITIES: The Counselor Education Program invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track assistant professor position, with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. The successful candidate will assume a range of responsibilities including: teaching graduate courses in the Counselor Education programs, providing clinical supervision and academic advising; participating in broad-based university, college, and departmental committee work and professional service; and conducting research and scholarly activity.
RANK & SALARY: Assistant Professor; tenure-track. 9-month appointment; $7242 per month.

Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* An earned doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited program by date of appointment.
* An established professional identity as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor Educator through affiliation with relevant counseling associations;
* Evidence of successful teaching and communication skills in Counselor Education;
* Experience providing supervision to counselors-in-training;
* Demonstrated experience and commitment to evidence-based clinical mental health counseling practices;
* Post-master or doctoral degree experience as a professional counselor.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Contribute to the connectivity between faculty, staff, and students in the professional environment
* Experience with CACREP standards and familiarity with the accreditation process
* Experience in hybrid and online instruction and development
* A demonstrated ability to actively collaborate and communicate with colleagues, local stakeholders, and within the profession
* A demonstrated interest in working with diverse populations and advocacy issues
* Identified research agenda and interest in working with research teams
* Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the State of Illinois. If not currently licensed, describe in detail the steps needed to be completed to obtain licensure, which is required for tenure.
* Interest in providing leadership as program CACREP liaison
* Interest in teaching courses in Research Methods and Assessment Techniques

2. Handle all First Contact calls and assess telephonically to determine appropriateness for treatment, level of care, and special needs.
3. Schedule and conduct assessment interviews with potential clients and their significant others.
4. Formulate initial diagnostic impression and appropriate recommendations for level of care placement.
5. Provide case management and counseling services to assigned clients.
6. Utilize intervention skills as required to place the client in the appropriate level of treatment services.
7. Maintain knowledge of community, school and recovery resources in order to make appropriate interagency referrals as required.
8. Provide networking, linkage and follow-up with referral sources.
9. Maintain communications with all staff (e.g. assessments, admissions).
10. Meet with all individuals being admitted to inpatient treatment and provide warm hand-off to admissions clinician whenever possible.

12. Confirm that client has medications and appropriate medical records needed for admission.
13. Conduct pre-certification call for insurance if needed.
14. Notify appropriate staff of client status during admissions process.
15. Ensure that client health records are maintained consistent rules and regulations.
16. Assume on-call responsibilities as scheduled or when necessary.
17. Serve as a member of the treatment team and participate in all team meetings and activities.

Under the direction of the Director of Litigation, the Litigation Counsel oversees the investigation and handling of litigated claims files. The role requires sound evaluation of coverage, liability, and damages. The Litigation Counsel will also determine whether cases should be tried or settled and will drive the negotiation of fair and equitable settlements. The position is responsible for overseeing and managing outside counsel with respect to the representation of the Company and its insureds in litigation and monitoring and managing legal expenses, and reporting. Preparing and presenting cases in various meetings with management
