Additionally, counselors serve as part of the leadership team at each campus, collaborating with parents, faculty and staff. Adhere to federal, state laws and regulations, as well as, district policies regulations and procedures. Essential Functions Assist and collaborate with the Department of Guidance and Counseling in the implementation of the district guidance and counseling plan, including the establishment of short and long term counseling goals. Collect and submit counselor data at both the campus and Central Office. Plan, implement, and evaluate a balanced comprehensive developmental guidance program at each campus to serve all students, including special needs students. Coordinate ongoing drug awareness programs, assist in student achievement through individual and/or group counseling and participate in the development and implementation of in-service and public relations programs. Collect appropriate data on drop-outs, provide follow-up data on graduates and student referrals for counseling, General Education Homebound, and Special Education services. Collect and track the mandated student-volunteer hours (High School only). Assist the Testing Coordinator and Principal with the various mandated tests. Increase the number of students graduating from High School, prepared for post-secondary work (high school), and/or increase the number of students transitioning from one grade level to the next (all levels). Establish and assist in the vertical alignment of the counseling program PK-12. Establish and integrate a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) component at all YISD campuses. The model supports parents as their children's first teacher by providing them the tools, skills, and confidence to teach their young children in the home. Hourly Rate: $18 per hour Summary: The THV/HIPPY Home Visitor is responsible for engaging parents and caregivers enrolled in the HIPPY Program in a developmentally appropriate curriculum, that features role play as the method of teaching. Project: Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) is a home visiting model that focuses on parent-involved and parent-directed early learning. HIPPY services are offered to parents, who then work with their own 2- through 5-year-old children. HIPPY's mission is to help parents prepare their children for success in school and beyond. The model supports parents as their children's first teacher by providing them the tools, skills, and confidence to teach their young children in the home. Hourly Rate: $18 per hour Summary: The THV/HIPPY Home Visitor is responsible for engaging parents and caregivers enrolled in the HIPPY Program in a developmentally appropriate curriculum, that features role play as the method of teaching. Through home visits and community group meetings, the Home Visitor works directly with caregivers to improve outcomes for preschool children. This project is funded by the Texas Dept. of Family & Protective Services, Prevention and Early Intervention Division (PEI), and the scope of work is subject to change as needed to ensure the project's success and to meet funder requirements. Maintain a caseload of HIPPY families who will receive a weekly home visit and monthly group meeting over a period of 30 weeks. Utilize peer support skills by modeling, mentoring, and sharing program objectives and information to enhance parenting skills, building trusting relationships with families based on curriculum with a family-centered approach. Meet weekly with HIPPY coordinator to role-play upcoming curriculum and prepare for home visits, group meetings, and community service activities. Assist in the planning and execution of group meetings for HIPPY parents, as facilitated by the HIPPY Coordinator. Review and organize instructional materials in preparation for the group meetings and home visits with the families Conduct weekly home visits with each family to role-play the HIPPY curriculum and revisit families according to need. Develop and support a volunteer infrastructure at the HIPPY site by connecting HIPPY parents and community members to volunteer opportunities and track hours completed by parents. Participate and attend Texas HIPPY trainings, events, and service projects. Provide referrals to early childhood education and community resources as needed by the client and their families. Conduct data collection and data entry of evaluation instruments to measure progress and impact of the HIPPY Program. Attend parent/ child field trips. Adhere to agency and program model requirements, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
