3. Conduct functional behavioral assessment (FBA) based on observation of students in school, home, and community environments. Work with school staff and parents in teaching socially acceptable behaviors to students based on individual needs.
4. Participate in admission, review, and dismissal (ARD) committee meetings. Work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and other staff members to ensure success in meeting individual educational plan (IEP) goals.
5. Manage student behavior and administer discipline including intervening in crisis situations and physically restraining students as necessary according to IEP.

6. Identify staff development needs, develop and present training, and coach campus personnel to continually develop and enhance behavioral assessment and intervention skills.

Counselor Interns must have a current letter of registration as a Counselor Intern with the Department of State Health Services, and must be supervised and receive weekly progress reports by QCC to maintain registration. Counselor Interns must complete 4000 hours of a practicum prior to licensure. Licensed Counselors must be currently licensed in the State of Texas as an LPC, LPC-I, LCSW, LCDC, or CI. The employee is responsible for meeting all continuing education requirements, paying any required fees, and submitting paperwork in a timely manner as needed for maintaining their license.

* Maintains offender records and other records regarding services provided to include workload statistics; and compiles data and submits reports and related documentation as appropriate.
* Provides liaison to participants of training programs, workshops, and seminars.
* Implements follow-up and after care plans for offenders that participate in the program prior to their release; and disseminates information on community resources for offender placement in follow-up treatment.
Qualifications:
* Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent (GED) required.
* Must have a current letter of registration as a Counselor Intern (LCDC-I) from the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) OR current valid certification as a Certified Criminal Justice Professional Applicant Status (CCJP-A) as approved by the Texas Certification Board of Addiction Professionals.
* Select applicants must obtain the Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) license or the Certified Criminal Justice Professional (CCJP) certification within five (5) years from the date of their registration as a Counselor Intern or CCJP-A.
* Must sign a Credential Contingency Agreement (CCA) that will remain in effect only until the initially established expiration date. Failure to comply with the CCA will result in separation from employment. CCAs will not be extended or renewed as a result of an employee's separation from employment or acceptance of another position.
* Valid driver's license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record, unless waived by management.
* Must successfully complete Correctional Awareness Training (CAT) as well as TDCJ approved annual in-service training requirements and background checks.
* Must maintain Counselor Intern status or CCJP-A certification for continued employment.
