Essential Functions
* Complete comprehensive intakes of each student within 48 hours of enrollment in compliance with the Job Corps Policy and Requirements Handbook (PRH) Chapter 3 to identify needs and inform the delivery of supportive services.
* Maintain a confidential counseling file for each assigned student and secure files in accordance with PRH Chapter 6 and Appendix 601 to ensure privacy.
* Conduct ongoing, scheduled, career and personal counseling sessions with assigned students to assist in their social adjustment, determine interventions and support services needed to overcome personal issues and barriers, manage their career development and assess and remediate transitional support needs.
* Document individual counseling sessions in the confidential file using the standard RAP format (Reason, Action, Plan) in compliance with the PRH.
* Enter regular career development progress notes in the Job Corps Case Notes system using the RAP format. Ensure that private student information is reserved for the confidential counseling file.
* Monitor assigned students' career plans and pathway achievement records (PARs) and document updates in Job Corps information systems including Case Notes.
* Regularly review assigned students' schedules and make changes as needed to ensure the balanced pursuit of academic and career technical training and auxiliary classes are assigned that are appropriate to individual student goals.
* Lead the evaluation of student progress (ESP) process for assigned caseload to ensure each student receives ongoing evaluations at least every 60 days and the career management team (CMT) conducts a formal evaluation prior to students' entry to the career development period (CDP) and career transition period (CTP) in compliance with the PRH. Include an accommodations plan review as part of each evaluation as applicable. Update the student's Case Notes after each evaluation.

* May utilize GSA vehicles to transport students to off-site learning and employment opportunities, appointments, and as needed for retrievals and other center-related needs.
* Participate in department meetings and all mandated PRH and Strategix training.
* Maintain accountability of staff, students, and property and adhere to safety practices.
* Promote a harassment-free environment.
* Utilize information systems and handle student data in strict adherence to Job Corps and Strategix policies to protect student's personally identifiable information (PII) and reduce network security threats.

Job Description
The Program Manager (Case Manager) reports directly to the Director of Student Affairs (DSA) and serves as the co-chair of the Behavioral Assessment and Intervention Team (BAIT) and the Student-Parent Liaison. The case manager works to offer a supportive, personalized response when difficulties arise and to foster student development. In addition, the case manager is responsible for case management and works closely with the DSA to address and coordinate the needs of students who have health, psychological, economic, family relationships, and/or social adjustment-related problems through a variety of interventions, referrals and follow up services. Provides consultation to faculty, staff, academic departments, and parents, when appropriate, to minimize academic disruptions and help resolve problems affecting students in distress. The case manager also works closely with the Student Conduct Officers to address concerning behaviors that may also be a wellness concern. The person in this position is responsible for developing partnerships across campus and with local agencies and organizations in the community to provide and connect students and resources and services and may also assist with divisional efforts to actively engage students and promote their overall connection to the university community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plans, organizes, directs and manages day-to-day activities, developing and implementing procedures for the administration of the program.
Assists in developing strategic plans and goals to support the program.
Assists with the development and production of materials designed for the program.
Develops and conduct programs including leadership training, conferences, seminars and workshops.
Supervises program support staff and student assistants.
Assists with yearly budgetary and contract processes. Prepares vouchers, purchase orders and requisition and coordinate with accounting personnel and other support staff.
Researches, develops and writes white papers, grant applications and prepares presentations. Maintains and develops communications between partners by attending meetings and conference calls.

Additional Responsibilities
Provide case management and lead coordinated responses to students experiencing crisis or complex personal, social, or mental health concerns by co-chairing the BAIT team, facilitating risk assessments, and ensuring appropriate safety and support measures. Serve as the primary point of contact for campus members reporting student distress, coordinating interventions, referrals, and follow-up with campus and community resources to promote student well-being and successful outcome.
Monitor and track students in distress to ensure progress and follow-up, maintaining detailed, timely, and confidential records of all BAIT and student-parent cases. Facilitate collaboration among students, faculty, families, and community partners to promote student well-being and support those facing extenuating circumstances.
Utilize university software and database systems to access, record, and maintain accurate and up-to-date case documentation in accordance with institutional policies and procedures.
Maintain and update BAIT materials, website, and community resource lists. Design and deliver educational training and support programs for faculty, staff, and students, including awareness and prevention initiatives related to student well-being, crisis response, and parenting-student support. Collect, analyze, and report BAIT and student-parent case data to assess departmental needs, identify trends and gaps, and inform financial and programmatic resource planning.
Collaborates with campus partners including Student Counseling Services, Residence Life, University Police, Disability Services, Office of Student Financial Aid, Office of the Registrar, Health Services, Academic Affairs and other campus constituents in coordinating referrals and services.
Minimum Requirements
Education - Bachelor's degree in (Higher Education, Student Personnel Administration, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related field).
Experience - Five years of related experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Counselor internship job in Laredo, TX
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. The Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) serves as a member of the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP). The BHIP is a multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals which provides comprehensive, accessible, Veteran-centered mental health care. The MFT assigned to BHIP is responsible for coordinating and providing specialty mental and health therapy with a focus on couples, families, individuals, and groups utilizing systemic health theories requiring expertise in interpersonal relationships with conceptualizations that are distinct from individually oriented therapies.
The MFT conducts assessment interviews, develops treatment plans and provides treatment to eligible Veterans. Treatment modalities may include crisis intervention, intake evaluations, outreach services as well as empirically based treatment for families, couples, and individuals with mental health disorders. The MFT may refer clients to other programs and professionals as appropriate. The MFT also participates in and provides consultations to other team members; participates in conjoint emergency treatment with medical facility mental health personnel.
The Marriage and Family Therapist:
* provides a full range of psycho-diagnostic services which requires skill in a range of specialized interventions and treatment modalities. This includes individual, group, couples, and/or family psychotherapy as well as advanced level psychosocial and/or case management interventions used in treatment of Veterans with a range of DSM diagnoses, including substance abuse/dependence, family issues, and poly-traumatic injuries.
* Utilizes knowledge of current professional marriage and family practices. Experiences must have required use of knowledge, skills and abilities associated current professional marriage and family practice working with couples, families, individuals, and/or groups utilizing family systems theory/therapy as well as the ability to diagnose and treat mental health disorders.
* may be responsible for the clinical supervision of MFT's for licensing purposes only provided they have an AAMFT approved supervisor credential.
* may serve as the representative for Psychology Service on various Psychology Service, Mental Health Service Line, System or VISN administrative committees or work groups as assigned.
* provides subject matter consultation to colleagues and students on the psychosocial treatment of patients treated in the specialty area, rendering professional opinions based on experience and expertise and role modeling effective practice skills. In addition, there may be opportunities to teach and mentor staff and trainees in the specialty area of practice.
