Help save lives at OHL! Job Summary Odyssey House Detox Program is currently looking for a full-time bilingual (English and Spanish) Licensed/Licensed-Eligible Social Worker or Counselor. The schedule is M-F 8am to 5pm, rotating holidays and weekends as needed. The Counselor will provide specialized services for the assigned caseload, provide core and ancillary group therapies weekly, individual counseling and when appropriate, family therapy. The Counselor has the main responsibility of maintaining communication with the referral source, court systems, and other involved human service providers as related to the client's ongoing treatment and discharge planning. The Counselor is responsible for working within the multidisciplinary team to develop treatment planning, treatment case reviews, and all written documentation as required by the agency, state and federal courts, and all funding sources. Responsibilities and Duties It is the duty and responsibility of the Counselor to: provide Clinical services to assigned clients; conduct weekly group therapies, individual counseling and/or family therapy as outlined in treatment plans; co-lead group therapies; conduct family assessments/therapy; function as a liaison to outside agencies, participate in case planning conferences, and treatment meetings and, when necessary, attend court hearings and represent the agency and client(s); maintain contact with and is available to Agency personnel, client's drug court officer, and family members regarding client's progress, problems and crises; maintain clinical case file for each client to include: assessments, Individual Treatment Plans, Case notes, and discharge summaries; apply ASAM Criteria to treatment planning; maximize units of services and maintain contract units of service by working with clients to stay engaged in treatment; provide crisis management when indicated by client need; assist with the planning and organization of therapeutic client actives both at and outside of the facility; ensure all written reports are up-to-date in case file; ensure completion of electronic medical record documentation; attend staff and other meetings; attend regularly scheduled in-service training; participate in quarterly training with staff; complete all Incident Reports prior to the end of scheduled shift as required by Incident Policy and Procedure; adhere to all Louisiana Department of Health and Agency contract requirements; maintain COA standards and participate in COA site audits; collaborate with other departments; work with Bayou Health providers for initial authorization and concurrent authorizations; ensure that all sign in sheets are printed for group and all groups are batched for billing; and perform all other duties as assigned. This role focuses on helping clients achieve sobriety, develop relapse-prevention strategies, and address co-occurring behavioral health needs. Responsibilities include clinical assessment, individualized Recovery plan, group and individual counseling, crisis intervention, and collaboration with VA and community providers. The counselor ensures compliance with confidentiality regulations (HIPAA & 42 CFR Part 2), VA GPD guidelines, and agency clinical standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Schedule: In-person only. Monday-Friday after 5:00 PM, up to 4 hours/day. Three group sessions per week as scheduled. Clinical Counseling & Assessment Conduct substance-use assessments, screenings, and biopsychosocial evaluations. Develop individualized Support plan based on client needs and recovery goals. Provide evidence-informed substance use recovery support services (group and individual), in person, using approved curricula (e.g., Living in Balance, Matrix, Seeking Safety ) and trauma-informed practices Provide crisis intervention and de‑escalation support. Facilitate two 90-minute recovery support groups per week and maintain 6-8 individual recovery support sessions per week, as scheduled.     Job Description Educators for Quality Alternatives EQA serves students who have dropped out, been expelled from, or have struggled academically or behaviorally in traditional settings and are looking for an accelerated path to graduation. There are three high school campuses, The NET: Central City which opened in 2011, The NET: Gentilly which opened in 2017, and a third high school campus, NET: East / New Orleans Accelerated High School (NOAH), which opened in 2020 as a merger with ReNEW Accelerated High School. Students at the high schools earn a high school diploma and participate in internships, career counseling, and career training in various fields including construction, medical, and digital media. EQA also serves middle school students through The Bridge Middle School, a therapeutic program for 7th and 8th grade struggling students. For all settings, our goal is that our students leave school with the skills, confidence and experience necessary to succeed in the career and education path of their choice. Position Summary EQA Schools seeks a highly skilled counselor to provide individual and group counseling to its students and to provide leadership to the school's trauma-informed approach. More than half of EQA School's students have behavioral struggles. A large percentage of students suffer from PTSD or C-PTSD due to exposure to high levels of neighborhood violence. In a city and state which lack appropriate mental health, crisis, and wrap-around services, EQA Schools believes it has more responsibility than schools normally do for providing high quality mental health services to its students. This position is designed to join a team consisting of a combination of full and part time individuals such as: school counselors, deans of students, family coordinators, attendance coordinators, psychologists, and Special Education personnel. EQA School's culture is based on restorative approaches and all staff are selected for and trained in working with students with high levels of need and trauma.
