SUMMARY OF DUTIES
The Family Service Worker (FSW) provides transportation and supervised visitation services in a safe setting between parents and their children in foster care. Provide transportation services to participants for case related activities to including medical appointments, therapy appointments, court hearings, unsupervised visits, or for any other case related activities that do not require monitoring or supervision. Provides childcare during the times participants are receiving CCSS related services as a way to address participation barriers. The FSW maintains participant confidentiality at all times, participates in program staff meetings, meets with supervisor on a regular basis and attends training and other staff development activities. Minimum Qualifications
Basic Education Requirements: Possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in counseling, marriage/family therapy, psychology or social work.

Level IV: One (1) year of progressively responsible professional post-Master's work experience providing counseling and/or therapy to individuals and/or their families which included assisting individuals resolve behavioral problems. This experience must have involved counseling or guidance in situations where individuals had difficulty in grasping or understanding the nature of their problem(s), choosing between various possible courses of action, adjusting to environmental conditions and/or acquiring or sustaining appropriate individual control or motivation.
Quality of Experience: Possession of the required number of years of experience will not in itself be accepted as proof of qualification for a position. The applicant's overall experience must have been of such scope and level of responsibility as to conclusively demonstrate that he/she has the ability to perform the duties of the position for which he/she is being considered.

Role Overview
Hale Kipa is looking for Youth Counselors to work with youth between the ages of 12 and 17, who are placed in the Hale Ho'opakele, (a type of Emergency Shelter) because they have been identified as having some kind of involvement with sex trafficking. Youth can be referred by various referral sources and the length of stay in the emergency shelter is anywhere from 1 day to 30+ days, while youth await return home or another more permanent placement.
Relief Youth Counselors need to be able to manage crisis situations appropriately and help youth work through issues they are experiencing. They need to provide a stable, safe, structured, and nurturing environment, that encourages youth to participate in a program structure that includes: chores, meals, bedtime, quiet time, study time, meetings, and participation in planned activities and outings. Relief Youth Counselors also need to spend time discussing issues with youth to assist and support them in their emotional processing, encourage adaptive positive coping skill-building, and solidify/set limits. Also in the overnight position, Relief Youth Counselors are required to conduct and document 20-minute bed checks to ensure all youth are safe. Assisting youth with wake-up calls in the morning and helping them start their day off in a positive manner, are part of the responsibilities of this staff.
In addition to working with the youth, Relief Youth Counselors are also responsible for understanding and handling intake processes and procedures accurately, as well as submitting required documentation in a timely manner. Having some computer knowledge and being able to navigate the electronic health record is essential to the role. Working as part of a team and possessing good communication skills, both verbal and written; and representing Hale Kipa in a professional manner when working with collaterals, parents/guardians, and youth are imperative to the Relief Youth Counselor position.
Schedule: Relief Youth Counselors are on call and work is not regular. Work is dependent on shift availability and the availability of the Relief Youth Counselor. Available shifts include:
Front Half: Sunday - 8:45am - 10:30pm; Monday - Tuesday - 2:30pm - 10:30pm; every other Wednesday - 2:30pm - 10:30pm.

Follow-up, as necessary, on needs addressed in the weekly inspection reports. May make minor repairs as necessary. Promptly report major repair needs or problems to the Site Manager.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of emergency procedures and appropriate evacuation procedures and ensure they are followed. Maintain a clearly posted evacuation route in case of emergency, emergency contact information next to each phone, and clearly posted first-aid information. Ensure that appropriate safety equipment such as flashlights, smoke detectors, and the first-aid kit are properly functioning and/or stocked with necessary supplies. Promptly report needs to the Site Manager for follow-up.
Assist in ensuring that adequate supplies and equipment necessary to support the day-to-day needs of the Group Home program are available. Promptly report needs to the Site Manager for follow-up.

Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i's only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i's leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care. Over 1,400 employees and more than 700 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani. The hospital is home to the Kapi'olani Women's Center and the Women's Cancer Center, and offers numerous community programs and services, such as specialty pediatric clinics, the Kapi'olani Child Protection Center and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center.
The WIC program is a federally-funded Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women Infants and Children (WIC) within the Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children. The program provides Hawai'i residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding instruction and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and are at medical or nutritional risk. Kapi'olani recognizes the special health needs of Hawai'i's women at each stage of their lives from childbearing to mid-life and beyond and we strive to keep our community healthy.
The Peer Counselor, Breastfeeding position for the WIC program will provide basic breastfeeding information and encouragement to the assigned pregnant and/or breastfeeding mother population within the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program.

Minimum Qualifications: High School and/or equivalent. Direct experience with breastfeeding at least one baby in the past or present. Must attend breastfeeding training classes within three (3) months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications: Must not be licensed or credentialed in nutrition, lactation, or other health related field. Six (6) months of breastfeeding experience. Current or past WIC participant.

Under the supervision of the designated Supervisor or Manager, carries out the direct therapeutic interaction with clients, in accordance with the Hina Mauka policies and procedures. The therapeutic interaction is designed to bring about the transmittal of education, direction and support to the clients, resulting in an increased level of functioning and an amelioration of the damaging effects of substance abuse/dependence and, for dually diagnosed clients, the damaging effects of serious mental illness. Also shares in the responsibility for the safety and well being of the Hina Mauka clients. Protects the confidentiality of clients and client records in accordance with all applicable federal regulations.
I. Essential Functions
1. Serves as primary counselor for each client assigned to his/her caseload.
2. Evaluate clients in the screening process utilizing a bio-psycho-social screening instrument to determine a client's need for treatment and level of motivation and makes recommendations for appropriate level of care.
3. Assist with health insurance representatives for approval of care and reimbursement by providing necessary and timely documentation to the utilization counselor.
4. Communicates with referral source regarding prospective client to ascertain treatment history/goals. Coordinates additional requests for payment authorization as necessary.
5. Bases on comprehensive assessment and interpretive summary, develops treatment plans in collaboration with each client and their respective collaborates.
6. Conducts substance abuse, dual diagnosis and recovery-oriented services in a group or individual setting utilizing evidence-based curriculums approved by Hina Mauka.
7. Conduct individual counseling for clients using a cognitive/motivational approach that empower clients to make necessary self-manage changes that support a recovery-oriented lifestyle
8. Maintains client records in accordance with Hina Mauka policies and procedures and in compliance with all state and federal laws, licensing and accreditation standards and contract stipulations.
9. Completes fiscal and statistical reporting tasks as required.
10. Consults and collaborates with the Hina Mauka's Medical Team Director regarding client psychiatric/medical conditions and need for medical attention.
11. Conducts case management services with internal and external resources in support of client's overall wellness to include participating in treatment planning conferences with other involved stakeholders.
12. Become acquainted with Hina Mauka General Policies to familiarize yourself with overall clinical operations and practices.
II. Other Functions
1. Performs other related duties as assigned.
2. May be required to transport clients to off-site or outdoor treatment activities.
III. Qualification Requirements
Education/Experience and Training:
1. Certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or an Advance Degree in

5. Valid driver's license with clean abstract.

2. Ability to respond calmly and efficiently to stressful situations with crisis management skills.
3. Well organized and able to maintain accurate and concise records.

IV. Physical/Mental Demands
