Board Certified Behavioral Analyst Qualifications:
Behavior Analysis Certification: Required certification in Behavior Analysis with maintenance of BCBA requirements every two years.
Ongoing Education & Ethics: Fulfill continuing education requirements and adhere to BACB ethics standards.
Supervision Training: Completed 8-hour supervision training and 3 hours of related continuing education.
Relevant Experience: Experience in evaluating and treating children with severe behavioral issues and autism spectrum disorder.
Background & Health Clearances: DOJ/FBI Live Scan Background clearance and TB clearance required.
Additional Certifications: Pro-Act, CPI, and/or CPR certifications are a plus.

Develops the Comprehensive Treatment Plan with the input of the client and through participation in treatment planning meetings and process.
Advocate for clients' rights and needs with healthcare providers, social service agencies, and other organizations.
Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and progress.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including therapists, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals.
Contacts residents' family members to set appointments or educate the family on the residents' current status and/or progress.
Monitor client progress and adjust care plans as needed.

Position Description: Under the general supervision of the Director of Counseling and Psychological Services, the Counselor - Latainx/Chicanx Student Community Focus position carries out a variety of duties: Direct clinical services to Cal Poly Pomona University students and the campus community at large; crisis intervention and consultation services to various University constituencies; working collaboratively with the Counseling Services Outreach Coordinator in developing and delivering prevention training and outreach services; the supervision, training and evaluation of pre and post-doctoral trainees (who also provide direct clinical services). Provide other services as designated by the Director, Associate Director, and/or the Associate Vice President of Student Wellbeing and Support or designated Administrator-in-Charge.
In order to address the mental health needs of all students, the CAPS Counselor - Latinx/Chicanx Student Community Focus is dedicated to helping meet the needs of Latinx/Chicanx student population on campus, providing culturally-relevant support through direct services, workshops, and outreach programs. Services and programs developed is done in partnership and consultation with the Cesar E. Chavez Center for Higher Education to help elevate the experience of Latinx/Chicanx students on campus.
The position calls for a comprehensive repertoire of counseling/clinical skills that must be executed using sound judgment, independent decision making, an ability to respond to a multitude of requests/issues in a very brief period of time, and expertise with crisis intervention and working with a broad range of presenting problems. Major Responsibilities:
Direct Clinical Service Delivery
Conducts clinical assessment and intake evaluations; provides individual, couple and group counseling as well as crisis intervention, hospitalization and other emergency response. Utilizes clinical conceptualization, treatment planning, and case management to facilitate clinical effectiveness. Provides mental health consultation and facilitates on and off campus referrals, as needed. Maintains/demonstrates a current command of knowledge in professional counseling theory, research, practice, legal and ethical guidelines, and department's policies and procedures. Employs a variety of therapeutic methods to effectively counsel clients with a full range of psychological issues. Utilizes sound clinical judgment and applies methods appropriate to presenting problems and needs of clients. Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and competence addressing needs of diverse clients. Applies legal and ethical standards of the profession in executing clinical services. Utilizes consultation opportunities for treatment planning, and to ensure service quality and adherence to legal and ethical mandates.
Provide outreach services, prevention program/activities, consultation, and/or psychoeducation programs to various constituencies on campus (e.g., student organizations, faculty, staff, and/or community affiliates). Some evening and weekend hours are required to provide outreach/prevention events, workshops, presentations, training sessions, seminars, and/or courses to the campus community.
Although most crisis calls are directed to ProtoCall Services, this counselor position is part of the primary after-hours on-call rotation team, if necessary, carrying the crisis phone on average one week per month. The counselor also provides primary crisis coverage in the event of a campus crisis or emergency, and responds as requested by the Director (or designee) overseeing the crisis/emergency situation. While most of the after-hours crisis intervention involves phone consultation only, there may be times when the situation rises to the level where on-site intervention after-hours is necessary. The after-hours on-call rotation counselor duties include, but are not limited to: consultation over the phone with the student and/or impacted individuals, coming to campus after-hours if necessary and timely responding as appropriate to de-escalate the crisis situation, based on the clinician's best clinical judgment, professional standards, and ethics.
In the event where the counselor provides services outside of regular business hours, the counselor and the CAPS Director (or designee) may consider the time taken outside of the normal work schedule and the counselor's proposed adjustment to the work week schedule to an average of 40 hours of work for the impacted work week. The counselor's proposed adjustment of schedule will be subject to the operational needs of the department and approval by the CAPS Director (or designee).
Indirect Clinical Services
Maintains records/case notes pertaining to client caseload and other service delivery. Applies legal and ethical standards of the profession in documentation and record keeping. Attends departmental meetings as scheduled, needed and/or as requested by the CAPS Director (or designee). Develop outreach and prevention programs/activities and psychoeducational programs to various constituencies on campus. Participates in professional development activities/training to enhance job performance. Participates in other activities and committees, as needed, to carry out services within the department as determined and assigned by the CAPS Director (or designee), including taking on additional caseload, generating reports/documents, conducting research or special projects, committee work (i.e. search committees, peer reviews, other campus committees, etc), and/or participating in campus events (including some evenings and weekend hours). When requested by the CAPS Director (or designee), works in collaboration with the Coordinator of Clinical Training to provide clinical supervision to doctoral trainees, including verbal and written feedback in relationship to the trainee's performance, professional conduct, and clinical outcomes with clients.

Minimum Requirements:
* Education in:

Prototypes Women's Center in Pomona is a 180-bed residential facility for women and women with children. Our interdisciplinary team of professionals provides comprehensive substance use disorders, mental health, and psychiatric treatment that ranges from 60 days to 6 months.
The On-Call SUD Counselor is a registered or certified substance use disorder professional who maintains registration from an approved/accredited California agency. The Counselor works in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure best possible treatment outcome for the client and provide treatment in accordance with HealthRIGHT 360's philosophy, where program schedule requires additional staff. The On Call SUD Counselor provides supervision and oversight of the clients and children throughout the facility with shifts ranging to provide 24/7 coverage.
The On-Call SUD Counselor is an integral part of an interdisciplinary team that supports our clients through assessment of their needs and strengths in support of their health and recovery. On-Call SUD Counselor will perform counseling in individual and group setting, deliver curricula in accordance with program specific requirements and case management, and assist clients in navigating systems of care while providing a supportive treatment environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitate group counseling sessions, community meetings, and teach classes on various treatment-related topics to assist clients in meeting their treatment goals.
Perform crisis intervention and communicate with treatment team as unforeseen situations arise.
Properly document all group counseling sessions and all individual sessions as needed within 24-72 hours per contract requirements.
Must meet residential service delivery goal of 60%.
Proactively link clients to both internal and external resources based on their treatment needs.
Follow up on the progress or status of clients' treatment.
Document client updates and incidents daily.
Maintain safety and security of the clients in the facility by performing periodic house runs.
Ensure client medications are securely stored and properly accounted for as needed.

Collaborate with client and other internal and external resources to develop or maintain problem lists and/or treatment plans, transition plans, progress notes, and appropriate updates in support of their health and recovery.
Complete discharge paperwork/process and other required agency assessments in a timely manner.
Support intake process such as preparing rooms and maintaining supplies.
Perform property and room searches as needed.
Respond to overdose and other medical emergencies.
Perform tests for substance use such as urinalysis and breathalyzer.
Observe clients every 30 minutes and document on observation log, per program requirements.
Collect, clean, or dispose of biohazard waste.
Disinfect and clean rooms and common areas as needed.
Accurately enter data in various electronic systems for all clients in accordance with guidelines established by HealthRIGHT 360 to satisfy internal and external evaluating requirements.
Read and respond to emails, calls, and Teams messages in a timely manner.
Complete assigned training as needed and as required by the due date.
Attend and actively participate in meetings.
Plan and facilitate celebrations and special events.
Work on weekends and holidays as needed.

Education, Certification, or Licensure

Key Responsibilities:
Provides orientation to new patients to the programs' rules, policies, procedures, and patients' rights.
Conduct Intakes, Discharge Planning, Initial Assessments, and Initial Treatment Plans professionally and within time guidelines as required by applicable federal and state regulation, CARF guidelines and Pinnacle Policies.

Review and ask about other practitioners' involvement in the treatment of these high-risk conditions. Recommend immediate referral to such a specialist in case of need. Request the patient sign a waiver for release of information which will allow communication with the other practitioner in case of need (e.g., deterioration of the patient's condition).
Flag high-risk patients to the Medical Directors, Physician Extenders, and Regional Clinical Leadership (RCL) and highlight the conditions concerned.
Refer such patients to the Medical Directors, Physician Extenders or RCLs (Regional Clinical Leadership) based on the urgency, utilizing the informal Referral Policy or the scheduled Treatment Team/Case Conference session.
Review physician notes, following the Medical Directors or Physician Extenders' session with the patient, verifying that they noted and addressed the high-risk factor, or otherwise bring it immediately to the attention of the supervising counselor, as well as the clinic manager, until the matter's proper and professional handling by the physician or physician extender.
Advise, in writing, other staff members (including the clinic manager, supervising counselor, dispensing nurse and front office) of high-risk patients and their condition. Maintain and circulate minutes from treatment team/case conference sessions to the other staff members.
Provide professional counseling and referral services by:
Addressing patients' clinical and special needs by maintaining referrals to specialized (“second tier”) services rendered by physicians, physician extenders and counselors within Aegis, as well as referrals to Keys to Recovery (or other twelve-step) support groups, and other community resources (e.g., agencies and practitioners outside of Aegis), acting as a liaison to these agencies, as necessary.
Providing individual and group counseling as clinically necessary, to address the problem issues identified in the Initial Assessment and Treatment Plans. The counseling service will include protocols for the treatment of Relapse Prevention, Peer Pressure, Anger Management, Domestic Violence, Parenting, Family Preservation, Vocational Rehabilitation, etc.
