Critical Action Items:

Schedule
Generally, the normal work hours for the university are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 - 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm with a one-hour lunch. The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department. Hours worked may differ with some departments.

The University of Texas Permian Basin's Department of Community and Family Health welcomes applications for the position of Home Visitor with our HIPPY Program Salary Range $34,000.00 depending on qualifications Essential Functions This entry-level role supports families participating in the HIPPY program through consistent home visits, relationship-building, and guided use of the HIPPY curriculum. The position works closely with families to support school readiness, provide encouragement, conduct screenings, and help connect them with community resources. This role combines regular family contact with thorough documentation and steady communication with the HIPPY Coordinator to ensure high-quality, compassionate service.
* Recruit and maintain a caseload of HIPPY families as assigned by the HIPPY Coordinator in alignment with HIPPY model guidance.
* Serve families via in-home visits, teleservice/interactive video conferencing, or a hybrid approach based on identified family needs and model best practices.
* Attend weekly role play, staff meetings, and periodic member development training.
* Conduct assessments and screenings, review scores with families, and refer to community supports as needed.
* Organize and implement group meetings and special events for families throughout the year.
* Connect families to community resources relevant to family needs, follow up on resource connections, and document progress notes.
* Participate and attend Texas HIPPY trainings, events, and service projects.
* Conduct outreach and recruitment activities for the program and the department throughout the year.
* Accurately document all service provision, both electronically and physically, within designated timeframes.
* Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
1. High school diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications
1. Two years of experience in early childhood and/or prevention services.
2. Prior experience as a HIPPY family or participant.
3. Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Schedule
Generally, the normal work hours for the university are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 - 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm with a one-hour lunch. The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department. Hours worked may differ with some departments.
Standard Working Conditions
1. Able to lift various materials up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
2. Able to bend, crouch, and reach continuously.
3. Physically able remain seated, frequently to continuously.
4. Able to remain standing up to 15% of the time.
5. Possesses dexterity abilities required to perform job duties including extensive keyboard work, operating office equipment, performing filing, and other job-related responsibilities that include extensive wrist and hand movement.
