**This is a full-time position. Office hours are Monday - Thursday 7:30am - 5:30pm and Friday 8:00am - 12:00noon.**
JOB SUMMARY:
The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting providers and nurses with daily clinic duties to include providing quality care as per the scope of practice guidelines. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer service skills. Must be able to coordinate work within the department, as well as other departments, including occasional reassignments between regional clinics.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrates ability to coordinate activities with the front desk staff and triage all incoming patients for the medical providers regardless of appointment status.
Greets patients and validates patient information via patient interviews and patient screenings.
Documents pertinent information appropriately in EHR while following TAB guidelines.
Maintains and secures patient information.
Utilizes time management skills to ensure that everyone is seen in a timely manner, communicate wait times and return phone calls promptly. Follows up on missed appointments.
Demonstrates valid competency in measuring temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, and head circumference, height and weight and lab measurements per TAC/JCAHO requirements.
Demonstrate ability to successfully complete validation of skills and cross training competencies.
Maintains logs and supplies as directed by the Nursing Supervisor per TAC/JCAHO requirements.

The Family Service Coordinator (FSC) manages a caseload of families participating in the Head Start and/or Early Head Start program, providing ongoing support, in partnership with families, that is responsive to their needs. The FSC develops trusting partnerships with families. Have regular home visits with families to build on competence in the areas of: understanding attachment and child development, self and family advocacy, developmental transitions, parents as a child's first teacher, life management skills and family
Make and consistently follow up on referrals related to: Family Partnership Agreement goals, strengths/needs assessment items, children with special needs, family health, job and education services and other services related to wellness and family

Required Qualifications
Associate's degree in family and child development, early childhood development, social work or adult learning; or within eighteen months of hire, at a minimum, a credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related

Demonstrated knowledge of administration, budgeting, purchasing systems management, and public relations skills.

Compensation
