Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness and quality of academic instruction and behavioral support services provided to students, ensuring exceptional outcomes. Supporting Spectrum staff by modeling, reinforcing, and enhancing instructional best practices to promote student growth aligned with Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals. Implementing evidence-based interventions by applying scientifically proven behavioral and educational strategies, promoting positive outcomes in academic, social, emotional, and independent functioning. Providing crisis management intervention and support for students exhibiting aggressive or self-injurious behavior and developing strategies to reduce the need for 1:1 staffing. Collaborating closely with on-site education teams to collect and analyze data on student behavior, monitor student progress, and ensure appropriate intervention responsiveness and consistent progress toward goals. Conducting regular quality checks for each campus within assigned region at the student, staff, classroom, and site levels; making recommendations for improvement based on analysis of data. Supporting the development of on-site teams within assigned the area through delivery of training on behavioral assessment, intervention, positive behavior supports, data collection, crisis management, and other relevant topics. Providing guidance and supervision to staff members within assigned region pursuing BACB certification (RBT, BCaBA, BCBA), as agreed with the Program Director or VP of Behavior Services. Assisting in the development and implementation of improvement plans for assigned campuses to enhance student performance and staff effectiveness. Engaging in multi-disciplinary on-site and regional team meetings to discuss behavioral needs and contribute to the development of comprehensive support strategies. Monitoring and ensuring adherence of all campuses to Department of Education regulations and internal standards for educational and behavioral service is maintained within assigned area. Maintaining accurate and detailed records of assessments, interventions, progress, and compliance activities. Providing operational support to all schools in the assigned area, focusing on academic achievement, behavioral support, staff retention, and development. Performing additional duties or special projects as assigned to support organizational goals and student success. ‖ Qualifications Required: Master's degree or higher in applied behavior analysis, behavioral therapy, special education or a closely related field of study. Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) credential. Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an education specialist or special education instruction credential preferred. Hold currently or have the ability to obtain a valid CA state driver's license. Well-versed in applied behavior analysis (ABA) including positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS), data-based decision making, and functional behavior analysis (FBA) and behavior intervention plans (BIP). Remembrance, Resolution, Reconciliation, Restoration, Renewal About the Position: As a Registered/Certified Substance Abuse Counselor I, you will support the community by delivering face-to-face rehabilitative programming services provided in the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDT).What You Will Do: Deliver treatment programming services to participants and conduct group and/or individual sessions. Effectively implement scheduled program curriculum. Leads and participates in face-to-face group and individual meetings utilizing motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy and other therapeutic processes. Engage participants daily, reinforce group rules and expectation for participation and completion. Works directly with participants to develop and implement treatment/action plans and educate participants about supportive networks as they return to the community. Review treatment plans, evaluate and record treatment progress, records visible changes in appearance, behavior, and demeanor of program participants. Maintains accurate, timely, and confidential participant records. Evaluates and documents the progress of participants assigned to their groups. Completes all delivery documentation requirements. Summarizes participants' background, treatment plan, and recovery process outcomes. Prepares accurate, concise, informative reports, records and plans that are consistent with Amity standards, and complies with applicable clinical and administrative rules. Liaise with transition/reentry staff, plans, and prepares transitional documents as directed by CDCR for continued community program activities. Works collaboratively with CDCR, DRP, CCHCS and institution staff. Supports and collaborates co-faculty, including but not limited to Supervisors, Directors, and Regional Directors. Participate in monthly, block, cross-training, curriculum training, technical assistance training, or other training as appropriate. Other duties as assigned. What You Will Bring: Minimum 6 months of experience providing SUDT services as a certified AOD Counselor. Current AOD Certification with organization recognized by the DHCS OR Registration with BBS or AOD certifying body, depending on education level. Understanding of causes, symptoms, and effects of substance abuse; appreciation for the behavioral, psychological, physical, and social effects of drug abuse. Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills. Operational knowledge of MS Office Suite and ARMS (preferred). Ability to maintain sensitivity and objectivity under pressures generated by association with substance abuse treatment participants. Demonstrate ethical behavior in order to maintain professional standards and safeguard the participants. Protect and maintain program participants' health, safety, welfare, and confidentiality of records and participant information. The Position The Mental Health Specialist (MHS) is responsible for providing direct clinical intervention to participants (families and individual adults) in Interim Housing Site(s) or as part of a street-based Multidisciplinary Team (MDT). The MHS will identify participants needing mental health services through assessments, referrals, and coordination of care with partner agencies. The MHS will connect participants to community based and mental health care, provide crisis prevention and intervention, recommend level of care options, and support participants by utilizing evidenced based clinical modalities The MHS will provide in-person individual one-on-one care and lead groups. The MHS will also support their team by consulting on cases, providing recommendations for services and modeling appropriate interventions with members of their multidisciplinary team. The MHS must be able to complete thorough clinical assessment, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and collaborate closely with various community-based programs connected to the Department of Mental Health (DMH) and Department of Health Services (DHS). What You'll Do Provides in-person, individual and group based clinical case management and behavioral health services to people experiencing homelessness in interim housing settings or within a homeless outreach team. Conducts mental health, substance use and safety/risk assessments on identified participants Creates relationships with mental health service providers, Department of Mental Health, VA and hospital social work teams. Refer participants for services as well as maintain a resource listing of mental health services for participants engaged in LA Family Housing programs. Engages in discharge planning and leads care coordination activities Utilizes Harm Reduction, Housing First, Low Barrier and Trauma Informed Care philosophies when working with individuals experiencing homelessness Works collaboratively with medical providers to ensure PEH are triaged to needed medical care Completes risk assessment and safety plan and liaise with Psychiatric Mobile Response Team (PMRT) if danger to self/others resulting from a mental health disorder or grave disability is suspected.
