Come and spend your summer on the Chattahoochee River at Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC)! The position of Day Camp Counselor is a great opportunity to work on new technical skill-sets while growing your leadership, supervision, communication and teamwork skills.
NOC Day Camp Counselors work to teach day campers introductory paddle sports skills of kayaks, rafts, and paddleboards and introductory mountain biking skills, as well as facilitate guided trips. Day Camp Counselor applicants must be at least 18 years of age prior to their start date and have current First Aid and CPR certifications. This is a physically demanding position and is classified as summer seasonal. Due to the seasonal demand of our business, we are looking for applicants that are available for a minimum of 3 months and are available to work from mid-May until August 2, 2026. Applicants with shorter availability may still be considered based on hiring needs. This position requires applicants to live in the Atlanta area, no housing is offered. Responsibilities
Guide day campers through rapids with while understanding and implementing risk-reduction in navigation, communication, and decision-making.
Teaching children how to paddle and pilot paddleboards, kayaks, canoes, and rafts effectively through varying river conditions.
inform day campers about local area information, other NOC activities and offerings, river, and trip information, and provide supervision.
Provide first class guest service to all campers, before, after, and during their trip, as well as professional guest service to parents during check-in and check-out.
Assist with camper check-in and check-out.
Facilitate activities for participants during down time and transitional times.
Assist in off-the-water tasks, including moving, loading, and unloading equipment, assisting guests, delivering instructional talks, and washing and organizing gear and equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Substance Use Treatment & AOD Counselor will perform duties including, but not limited to:
• Perform all work in a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Program's mission, values, and philosophies.
• Observe urine collection for substance use screens as per the treatment plan for same gender clients.
• Provide family interventions in support of client success.

Job Summary The Family Counselor / Therapist is responsible for providing, at minimum, weekly one-hour, home-based family therapy sessions to clients. Therapist must maintain a flexible work schedule that may include working hours other than regular work schedule: evenings and weekends. As a strengths-based model, Functional Family Therapy (FFT) focuses on acceptance and respect and uses assessments and interventions to determine risk and protective factors in relation to the family and youth's development. The therapist should demonstrate interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with and engage with families. The therapist will be required to carry a caseload of 8 families, providing services over a three-to-four-month period. (Pre-session planning is required). • Submit all required documentations and data collection in a timely manner to the EHR. • Assist administrative staff in collection of information for program effectiveness • Promote a positive relationship with each FFT family with a non-judgmental and strength-based approach • Respond in a positive and respectful manner to diversity, among the agency's service population and staff • Carry a caseload as assigned • Perform other duties as requested by your direct supervisor, the Clinical Director or the CEO Requirements • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or other relevant human service profession. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the active direct supervision of all children assigned to his/her supervision as to their designated duties and responsibilities and to provide direction for developing and understanding an appreciation of the philosophy, function and operation of the treatment program, as well as the structure and philosophy of service and treatment of Hillside.
In the supervision of children at Hillside, the Behavioral Specialist is responsible for implementing and maintaining adequate standards of institutional care for adolescents as designated by Hillsides Chief Executive Officer and the State of Georgia. The Behavioral Specialist should actively participate in scheduled activities with the children.
Coordinate with Dietary Personnel to ensure that a proper diet is maintained, that meals are well prepared and that the physical facility meets health standard at all times. If on duty at meal times, take his/her meals along with the children. Occasionally or in emergency situations, may be responsible for the preparation of meals.
Responsible for monitoring the physical health, hygiene and safety of each child in his/her unit. The safety protection extends to the supervising of the treatment care of assigned children at all times. He/she will teach living and social skills (i.e. maintaining clean/orderly rooms, doing assigned tasks.) on a daily basis. At times, may have to restrain a child (place child in a seclusion room and/or treatment room) to protect the child or other children. NOTE: Only the minimum amount of force necessary to restrain the child will be utilized, while using techniques and procedures according to applicable Hillside Policies and Training.
Responsible for collaborating with the multi-disciplinary team to provide an ongoing assessment of changes in child status. Responsible for implementing the multi-disciplinary team plan of care, as well as individual treatment plans and group therapy treatment for the children assigned to his/her unit. Assure quality services for children by enforcing rules, regulations and legal requirements with children and documenting events of the therapeutic process.
Review licensing regulations from the State of Georgia by reviewing and referring to the Hillside Policy and Procedure Manual on a consistent basis. He/she will ensure that the unit under his/her supervision is meeting all requirements. He/she will need to demonstrate an understanding of emergency procedures, internal and external disaster plans, and complete and update all required and assigned in-services and training: Orientation, Infection Control, First-Aid, CPR, HELP (Human Empowerment Leadership Principles), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), Cultural Competency, Confidentiality and Fire Safety. Initial and refresher training sessions require mandatory attendance.
Maintain contact and work with the families of the children assigned to his/her unit to ensure that good treatment is being provided for the children at home as well as at Hillside. He/she will act as a liaison with caseworkers and school counselors to facilitate development of home visits, contracts and school assignments.
Immediately report all suspected forms of physical and verbal abuse of the children to the Chief Executive Officer or designee, the Residential Program Director, Cottage Supervisors, Campus Supervisors and the Shift Supervisor, and communicate significant child issues as needed to the childrens therapist(s).
Periodically be required to transport children assigned to his/her unit to various activities. These activities may include but not be limited to medical appointments, schools and occasionally to bus and/or train stations so that children may go home for visits. Utilize utmost care and caution when transporting children to ensure their safety at all times. Coordinate the medical appointments with the Nursing Department and the Unit Supervisor to ensure that coverage is always maintained in his/her unit.
Assist the Education Director and school staff in the classroom and perform duties that may be assigned by the teacher(s). While assigned as teachers aid, will be under the supervision of Teacher/Education Director.
Actively supervise children in all activities on and off campus.
Responsible for completing a variety of paperwork on a daily basis. This paperwork includes, but is not limited to progress notes, special procedure observation forms, home contracts, incident reports, seclusion forms, treatment received, monthly summaries, documentation of school behaviors in the unit charts/notebooks and any area of concern in accordance with record documentation policies. Emphasis is placed on the neatness, correctness and timeliness of the paperwork. Required to understand and maintain the confidential nature of all children and facility related activities with emphasis on the sensitivity of the childs records.
Perform all assigned duties in a safe manner by following Hillside policies and procedures. Ensure proper ESI techniques are adhered to when involved in physical and/or verbal interventions. Report all accidents/incidents in an expeditious manner. Specific Duties:
Work with DPR subject matter experts across the FoC to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions, including licensing, certifications, inspections, UL standards, labor, safety and environmental requirements
Advise and support entity leaders and operations teams in areas of manufacturing and prefabrication
Provide contract support related to manufacturing and prefabrication, including the development of contract templates, management of agreements with third-party vendors, contract review and negotiation
Advise on and support efforts in claims development, analysis, defense and resolution
Manage dispute resolution, including supporting negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and litigation
Review internal processes to identify potential legal risks across manufacturing and prefabrication operations and recommend risk mitigation strategies and business process improvements
Collaborate with DPR's Insurance Team and provide guidance on insurance, indemnities and claims
Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on strategic business decisions and emerging legal issues in product manufacturing, prefabrication, supply chain and international sourcing.
