Essential Functions:
Assists and supports staff/students, as evidenced by observation and feedback.

Venesco LLC is looking for Military Family Licensed Counselors (MFLC) to support military members and families at/around Ellsworth AFB, SD. These roles support military adults as well as schools and child development centers.
We are currently hiring for Mission Ready Reserve (MRR) Military & Family Life Counselor (MFLC). This on-call, part-time role is a critical part of our mission to support military service members and their families when regular coverage is unavailable or during surge needs. In this role you will help members and families with the complex stresses of military life. You will provide a wide range of problem-solving skills to address areas such as deployment, frequent relocations, isolation from extended family members, children coping with the absence of a parent, child education, and spousal employment.

Our team of mental healthcare professionals ensures that our active-duty service members and their families receive the exceptional care they deserve. The MFLC counselor is an independently licensed mental health professional who exercises discretion and independent judgement to provide appropriate resource information in the form of non-medical counseling, coaching, training and education to military service members and their families.
Non-medical counseling is supportive in nature and addresses: living conditions; life skills; improving relationships at home and at work; stress management; adjustment issues, such as those related to returning from deployment; marital problems; parenting, fear, grief and loss.
School counselors and Child Development Center Counselors are assigned to DoDEA schools, military childcare centers, and in some cases, local community schools. Counselors should have experience working in a school setting to qualify for CYB positions. CYB counselors are also assigned to youth programs, summer camps, and for on demand assignments. CYB counselors are responsible for working closely with military branch Points of Contact (POCs) to assure that the program is provided within the scope of the contract and meets the needs of assigned installation.

Minimum Requirements:
A Master's degree in the Behavioral Health Professions
Minimum 2 years of post-master's supervised clinical experience
Mental Health Licensure at the Independent Practice level

* Completes hospital-wide mandatory inservices as well as age-specific unit education requirements (pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics).
* Conducts educational sessions in community and schools as needed, as observed by supervisor. Uses age-specific techniques and didactic materials to meet target group needs.
* Conducts initial and care plan reviews according to unit policies as observed by chart review.
* Reviews and updates target dates on care plan.
* Conducts screening and/or assessments to make appropriate referral to inpatient and outpatient providers consistent with the needs of the patient.
* Develops and implements an individualized treatment approach.
* Facilitates age-appropriate groups which reflect treatment plans being carried out and an ability to prioritize and intervene in crises as observed by chart review and supervisor.
* Facilitates communication between nursing personnel, physicians, referral sources, community partners and other departments, as evidenced by observation and feedback.
* Meets regularly with the Social Services Coordinator to coordinate roles, functions and planning.
* Meets with patients routinely to review and update care plan. Communicates the process with the assigned staff member as observed by chart review. Uses age-specific criteria in developing and assessing the plan of care.
* All other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements
Required:
Education - Bachelors degree in Related Field
Certification - Licensed Alcohol Counselor (LAC) - Accredited University or accredited training facility or South Dakota Board of Addiction & Prevention Professionals (BAPP)
Preferred:
Certification - Licensed Professional Counselor - South Dakota Department of Social Services
Experience - 3+ years of Chemical Dependency Experience
Education - Masters degree in Related Field
Physical Requirements:
Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances.
