Tacoma Screw Products is a distribution company that sells industrial supplies, fasteners and tools to contractors, small and large businesses and individual retail customers since 1946.
We have a unique blend of Wholesale and Retail Customers. Because of this, are not open during the typical 'Retail Hours'. We are closed on nights, Sunday, and Holidays.

We are seeking customer service sales people who are driven to be the best in their field. They love to interact with individuals who want to get the best quality products at the best prices from the most knowledgeable staff. We hire people who take pride in their appearance, their store and their product knowledge. Customer service is number one and so are our people!

This position will be based at our Ballard Store; 3930 Leary Way NW, Seattle, 98107

A day in the life:

Our Counter Sales People assist customers with the selection, application, and purchase of a wide variety of fasteners, industrial hardware, tools, and maintenance and shop supplies. Typical industries include transportation-heavy equipment, maintenance and repair departments, sand/gravel pits, and machine shops.


Counter Sales Associate Responsibilities:
Respond to walk-in and telephone customer inquiries including:
Product knowledge, special product requests, product pricing
Writing customer order using a software system
Identifying customers product
Clarifying requirements and specs
Locating and retrieving products
Finalizing transaction, and assisting in the shipment of product if needed
Develops and maintains favorable relationships with new and existing customers
Interacts with existing customers to increase sales of the Company's products and services



Required Skills/Experience

- High School Diploma or GED

- At least 1 year of Retail Experience; preferred in an industrial setting

- Solid math, verbal, and written communication skills

- Computer literacy

- Ability to work independently and within a team

- Must be well organized and self-motivated

- Must have a valid Divers License and meet insurability requirements

Physical Requirements:

- Must be able to move quickly to pull orders and wait on customers

- Must be able to stand & walk for long periods of time

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical demands of this job.

- Must be able to unload freight and stock shelves

- Ability to use hands to keyboard for customer orders and to look up inventory

- Must be able to answer the telephone and take customer orders

As a Counter Sales/Warehouse associate, you will be responsible for taking and following through on customer orders, information requests, and inventory status. Responsibilities also include order review to ensure accuracy and communication of any deviation to an order to the customer in a timely and professional manner. In addition, this position is responsible for assisting and assembling product for receiving, storing, shipping, and control of materials in inventory or for sale.
Assist and resolve customer requests and/or problems in a prompt and professional manner. Sell products and services, offer add-on and up-sell products that may benefit the customer, and suggest alternative products when a customer-requested product is not available. Maintain merchandise and literature displays. Continuously develop knowledge of Crescent product inventory, its location in the facility, and sales techniques. Keep up to date on market trends, new products and the application of those products. Back up and support inside sales representatives and warehouse personnel as necessary.



Qualifications:


High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Previous wholesale electrical distribution product knowledge and sales experience preferred.
