The company was founded in 1925 when a group of Illinois Agricultural Association members developed an organization to provide fire and lightning insurance for farmers.
Since then, COUNTRY Financial® has been adding products and services to meet the changing needs of our clients. It all began in 1925 with our roots firmly planted in agriculture.
COUNTRY Life Insurance Company was formed in 1929.
1941 - The company opened its first branch office in Boston.
The 1942 logo was a circle with triangle points displaying the IAA's initials.
The 1945 logo used stylized descriptive text as its brand.
1956 - The company began issuing homeowners insurance.
Prior to 1959, our insurance services (Country Life, Country Mutual, etc.) weren't marketed together.
Our home office relocated to Bloomington, IL and opened in September, 1961.
1969 - Amica Life was incorporated.
1973 - Automobile Mutual and Factory Mutual merged to form a more efficient corporate identity.
1994 - Amica's corporate offices moved from Providence to Lincoln, Rhode Island.
The 2000 logo was used as a transition to the oval, a shape preferred by consumer focus groups.
In 2001, Mutual Service Insurance (MSI) joined COUNTRY Financial®, adding four states to a new Central Region.
2005 - Robert A. DiMuccio was elected Amica's president and chief executive officer.
2007 - Amica celebrated its 100th anniversary.
The title of chairman was added in 2008.
A.M. Best rated COUNTRY Financial Property Casualty Group as A+ (Superior) in June 2019.
