Scope of Position Operate Ocean House vehicles to move employees both on and off property as directed by the Group Director of Logistics. Hourly Staff Schedule Requirements All staff are kindly asked to understand that the property operation is 24 hours a day 7 days a week, inclusive of all holidays. While the company will make every attempt to create a work and life balance, all hourly paid team members may be asked to work extended shifts and additional days based on business demands. The busiest of days during the season (Memorial Day through Columbus Day) are the weekend days from Friday through Sunday and on holiday weekends that are celebrated on Mondays, this can include Mondays. They are committed to safely transport students to and from school. Beginning and ending each school day by providing a supportive, caring and safe environment. Responsibilities: Follows a planned bus route making scheduled stops to transport children to and from school while obeying all rules and regulations. Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses. Communicates with the dispatcher via two-way radio during the route; provides updates to the dispatcher and reports delays, mechanical failure, emergencies, change in traffic patterns, or accidents. Provide written records of violations of the student code to the Transportation Dispatcher. Maintains discipline when students are on the bus. Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority. Keep the assigned bus clean. Keep to an assigned schedule. Perform a Pre and Post DOT inspection before and after each operation for mechanical defects. Discharges students only at authorized stops. Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips. Transports only authorized students and School Department staff. Reports all accidents and completes required reports. Part-time Description The mission of Meals on Wheels of Rhode Island is to meet the nutritional and special needs of older adults and other populations to help them maintain their independence. Since 1969, from Westerly to Woonsocket our staff and volunteers serve 1,500 meals each day. While the Home-Delivered Meal Program is the most recognized service, Meals on Wheels of Rhode Island also has a Capital City Café Program, a Restaurant Voucher Program, Pet Food Program and a Senior Wish Program for those in need. Summary The Delivery Driver supports the day to day operation of Meals on Wheels of Rhode Island's home delivered meal program. This includes ensuring there are sufficient meals for the route, delivering meals, conducing a safety check and providing home bound seniors an opportunity for socialization. This is a part-time position; Monday through Friday with core hours of 9:00 am - 2:30 pm.
