BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
Faculty are responsible for the academic supervision of TAs, including the selection of the TA, assigning tasks, and monitoring their work. Korean Studies Center Office (KSC) provides support to TAs such as: completing TA hiring paperwork, conducting TA orientations (KSC program), approving time cards, and working with the Human Resource (HR) and Payroll Offices to ensure stipend checks are issued on a timely basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support course preparation through activities, includes Canvas shell preparation
Assist with grading student assignments (Faculty are responsible for final grading of student work)
Provide written and verbal feedback on student assignments or activities
Attend initial, class lecture - if requested by Faculty (attendance for personal benefit does not qualify; budget does not permit TAs to attend every class session or class sessions in their entirety)
Keep records for the course as requested by the Faculty member
Develop or maintain a communication structure that allows the Faculty and class to interact outside of the classroom (includes Canvas)
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Successful completion of the course or related Fuller courses in a previous quarter
Doctoral or PhD Level study in Theology, Intercultural Studies, or Psychology
Experience with Canvas LMS
Excellent time and task management skills
PAY SCALE:
Wage range the Seminary expects to pay: $18.04 - $18.50 per hour USD

Position Overview and Responsibilities
We are looking for Software Engineering Teaching Assistants (TAs) to facilitate the smooth delivery of our rigorous summer residency program for rising juniors studying computer science. TAs, known as Engineering Managers (EMs) by the cohort, meet with a subgroup of students throughout the summer to lead workshops and demos, provide office hours, check-in on student progress, and provide mentorship as students work on projects and prepare to apply for SWE internships. TAs function both as instructors and as advisors, overseeing student projects that culminate in end-of-residency presentations.
TAs work within either the Core or Lite student track. Core programming runs synchronously and follows a pre-determined weekly schedule with 9-5 adjacent hours. Lite programming runs asynchronously, with TAs providing office hours and mentorship generally

Qualifications

Strong Python skills

Subject Matter Expertise: You must have experience and knowledge in facilitating or instructing the specific course subject area. AZ DEMA's current course tracks include: Communications, CERT, Emergency Management Instructor Skills, General Emergency Management, Hazardous Materials, HSEEP, Mass Care, NIMS/ICS All-Hazards Position Specific, Public Information, Mitigation/Recovery, School Safety, Weather and Warning Coordination.
Practical/Organizational Experience: A minimum of five years of documented emergency management/public safety work experience within the last ten years, preferably at the supervisor level or above, is required, including on incidents, planned events, or exercises.
Required Courses: You need to have successfully completed the required courses for each course/course track you are qualified to teach per FEMA/AZ DEMA requirements.
