Develop effective, safe, and cost-conscious technical solutions to the assigned Connexus Queries and Regional Actions within the allocated time and support their implementation through eMOC (electronic management of change) with clear communication to key stakeholders throughout the process Perform and review complex or non-routine mechanical engineering calculations and analyses. Perform technical review & approval of new equipment purchases Guides in managing the integrity of equipment including piping, pressure vessels, bolting, valves, and heat exchangers. Review and provide assurance that the inspection, testing, maintenance and condition monitoring tasks in SAP are aligned with the technical intent of Equipment Strategies. Analyze equipment performance using process, operator surveillance, maintenance, inspection and condition-monitoring data to ensure equipment delivers the required performance aligned with the Equipment Strategy, RBM and RBA/RBI work processes and make recommendations for improvement of equipment performance, as required. Perform risk and cost benefit analyses to ensure safety and clear value delivery Participate in risk assessments, HAZIDs, HAZOPs, LOPA, Project HSSE Reviews and provide feedback on critical equipment deferrals and asset risk management. Record relevant learnings in shared learning systems, integrate them into local activities and escalate high priority lessons. Actively participate and present in BP technical networks & communities of practice, maintaining a strong awareness of technical learnings, share lessons learned, present safety moments, and have close links with specialists and engineers of all disciplines, both within bp Solutions Engineering and across other parts of bp. The team operates around 50 sites in 32 states with a robust development pipeline. About the role The Principal Facilities Engineer will be responsible for providing engineering support to operating the Assai Renewal Natural Gas (RNG) plant located in Throop, PA. A key asset for Archaea Energy, this facility converts landfill gas, collected at the landfill, into pipeline quality natural gas (High Btu or Renewable Natural Gas). The facility processes the landfill gas by removing the majority of the non-methane components including CO2, Nitrogen, water, sulfur and volatile and non-volatile organic compounds to attain pipeline quality gas. The support will range from plant optimization to small upgrade projects. This role will work closely with Operations and Maintenance personnel at the plant in support of achieving plant runtime and production KPI's. They will also work closely with in-house Engineering teams and 3rd party Engineering Contractors to develop workpack deliverables for plant modifications. A key accountability will be maintaining and updating Process Safety Information for the plant. The successful candidate must be able to report to the plant in Throop, PA at least 3 days per week. You must live near the site or be willing to relocate to report into the site to be considered for the role. Key accountabilities Lead the creation of MOC's to document plant modifications and upgrades Work directly with 3rd-party engineering firms for engineering deliverables that are not internally generated Work with plant PSM coordinator to ensure PSM deliverables are kept up to date Review and approve major engineering submittals generated by 3rd parties Provide engineering input into operating, maintenance, commissioning, and start-up procedures and strategies Drive the right level of risk assessment for changes, from a Hazard Checklist to a HAZOP Ensure designs are aligned with safety and long-term serviceability as top priorities Act as a resource for new operators and technicians in the design and operation of the gas plant Provide start-up support for plant upgrades Essential education Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent in related field Essential experience More than 5 years experience with natural gas processing, refining, petrochemicals or related field. Proven track record in practical application of engineering standards and practices for operating facilities (e.g. ASME, API) Experience with designing & executing minor mechanical modifications and/or overseeing complex repair scopes Experience and technical understanding of engineering, maintenance, and operation of gas processing equipment Experience in root cause failure analysis Proficient in working with PFDs and P&IDs. Combustion Turbine Plant Engineering Intern Division: Power Supply - Asset Management Summary Description: The Engineering Intern will be primarily based at our Anson Combustion Turbine plant located in Lilesville, NC. They will work directly with Plant Engineering and Plant Management for project assignment and direction. This position will primarily focus on Plant Project support and development of Standard Operating Procedures. Academic and Trade Qualifications: Pursuing an Engineering degree with a desire to problem solve. Ideally, the student should be entering their Junior or Senior level course work. Experience with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Able to work in either a normal office or outdoor conditions. Perform well both individually and within a team. Able to be responsible for a project from start to finish. Work Experience: Experience troubleshooting problems and completing projects. Responsibilities: Understand and apply electrical controls and mechanical engineering principles to support combustion turbine plant operations and maintenance. Monitor, analyze, and recommend changes to operating and maintenance trends, procedures, and functions that affect reliability, safety, compliance, and cost effectiveness. Establish and maintain close working relationships with plant operating, engineering, and contract personnel. Maintain a routine flow of information concerning project schedules, annual work plans, plant status, progress and potential problems to the Plant Management and Director of Asset Management. Apply technical problem-solving skills to recommend improvements to existing processes. Assist with the analysis of data. Communicating research and results to management through reports and development of presentations. Job Knowledge: A basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering principles is desirable. Abilities and Skills: Should have the ability to work well with both internal and external contacts. Should be self-motivated and have the ability to undertake major projects with supervision. Flexibility is valued due to the variety of projects to which the successful candidate will be assigned. Strong teamwork, responsiveness, and communication skills are required. Must be able to work with Plant Staff and with other departments to meet project timelines. Relationships and Contacts: Reports to: Plant Engineer and is accountable to them for results achieved. Internal Relationships: Responsible for maintaining internal relationships necessary to achieve the purpose of the position and the desired results Working Conditions: Normal conditions based out of the Combustion Turbine, work may be in the office or outside depending on projects. Limited trips to the NCEMC main office and other locations may be required as needed. Personal Protection Equipment and steel toe boots will be provided.
