Job Title: Campus Grounds Supervisor
Reports to: Assistant Director of Facilities Management

Summary
The Campus Grounds Supervisor reports to the Assistant Director of Facilities Management to manage the operations and performance of the entire campus grounds, which include the main campus, athletic fields, and cross country trails, and for timely campus inclement weather response as needed. The position is responsible for providing high quality campus grounds experience to the community.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Manage student and staff employee labor in the department.
Manage, develop, and motivate staff. Completing timely communication of performance evaluations. Inspecting the quality of work expected to be completed.
Ensure campus needs are met, and all work practices remain consistent with all safety, quality, and department policy expectations.
Conducting training, inspecting work products and procedures, tracking, and approving time.
Ensure the department's full participation in the electronic work-request and preventative maintenance system in order to achieve appropriate performance metrics of the Grounds department staff, workload, and budget.
Establish standards and procedures, focusing on strategies for departmental effectiveness.
Work with the Assistant Director to plan ground renewal projects by evaluating campus landscapes and turf for improvement opportunities in quality, vitality, and aesthetic beauty.
Watch for long-term care issues as they relate to campus landscapes, turf, shrubs, and trees. (i.e., disease, erosion, rot, pests, etc.)
Oversee all areas of safety procedures and policies.
Maintenance of the department's MSDS information.
Participate in the development of the safety and emergency response plan for inclement weather, particularly for winter storms, which may include responding in the event of storms throughout the year.
Maintain a safe and orderly shop work area, as well as work sites around campus.
Identify and ensure the use of proper personal protective equipment and proper procedure in all chemical handling, confined space entry, and fire/explosion hazards within the department.
Be able to work closely with the campus community in providing clear communication and assistance by:
Responding to needs for outdoor campus events.
Maintenance schedule conflicts and problematic grounds conditions.
Identify, schedule, manage, and perform all cultural activities required for the health and vitality of campus grounds, including but not limited to fertilizing, aerating, topdressing, chemical spraying, pesticides, pruning, mulching, and leaf removal.
Manage contracts with outside vendors.
Evaluate and approve requisitions, as well as track supplies and materials in relation to keeping the department within budget.
Work with the Assistant Director to develop annual grounds budgets and goals, assessing progress periodically.
Plan and manage routine and preventative maintenance schedules of the equipment and property, participating as needed in the maintenance and repair.
Plan reclamation and development projects for improving safety function, visibility, and scenic vistas.
Ensure all maintenance and project areas remain tidy in appearance and track all work to be completed.
Be on call for safety and emergency response efforts in the event of storms throughout the year, particularly winter storms. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Assistant Director.

The mover position is a physically demanding job that requires moving equipment and furniture, sometimes in excess of 70 lbs. Under the direct supervision of the Moving and Surplus Property Coordinator, the mover utilizes the variety of tools provided by Moving Services to assist with moving and setups. Job Summary
The Graduate Assistant will provide educationally beneficial assistance to the Office of the Provost.
As a Graduate Assistant in the Office of the Provost, the student in this position will be the first point of contact for visitors, deliveries, and must positively portray a professional demeanor. The Graduate Assistant will provide executive level administrative support to the Office of the Provost, respond to a wide variety of situations in a timely manner, and represent the office in the highest professional manner.
Copies and distributes correspondence (both on paper and via electronic means) including requests requiring the provost's authorization. Works with the Office of the Provost support team to maintain a large complex record filing system. Accurately files documents for future retrieval. Responsible for ensuring the integrity of all associated records.

Maintain academic good standing. If a student's grade point average falls below a 3.00 (academic warning), the student will have next semester or summer term to improve and return to good standing before termination of the assistantship. Should a student fail to return to good standing after the next semester or summer term, or should a student receive academic exclusion and be dismissed from the degree program, the assistantship will be terminated at once.
This position will work in-person 19 hours per week.
' Full assistantships (19 hours/week) cover all but $25 of tuition.
' Applicable student fees are not covered by the assistantship.
Course loads for graduate assistants must be at least 6 graduate semester hours.

Job Summary
Casual Labor for the Wellness and Recreation Group Fitness Program serves as a Group Fitness Instructor responsible for providing patrons with safe, fun, and effective group fitness programming while helping class participants reach their fitness goals based on specific formats.
Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, promote, and lead safe and effective group fitness classes - 50%
Create a welcoming class environment for all fitness levels and encourage and motivate class members.
Demonstrate and promote knowledge of proper group fitness components, i.e.: warm up, aerobic exercise, flexibility, cool down, etc.
Effectively explain and demonstrate proper exercise techniques, as well as offer modifications to accommodate all participants.
Identify different muscle groups and teach appropriate methods to strengthen and stretch specific muscles.
Create digital flyers to promote class(es) on department digital/social medial platforms.
Answer participant questions to support them in achieving their health and wellness goals.
Implementation of emergency action plan as needed.

Maintain accurate class attendance records in a timely manner.
Maintain organization and cleanliness of equipment and facility - 15%
Maintain cleanliness Group Fitness equipment, studio, storage areas.
Set up and monitor class equipment and ensure its return in serviceable condition.

Understand and enforce Wellness and Recreation and area specific policies and procedures.
Provide general fitness education to users.
Ensure that safety and injury prevention policies and procedures are adhered to by participants; reports accidents and prepares accident reports, as required.
Serve as a resource for facility and department - 10%
Build effective, authentic relationships with patrons, help others connect with one another and to the Georgia College community.
Interact with patrons as an ambassador of Wellness and Recreation.

Arrive early for class(es) with an enthusiastic attitude.
Commit to your class(es), both the days and time, and participants! Do everything possible not to cancel a class.
Sub for other instructors when needed.
Go out of your way to get to know your fellow Wellness and Recreation student and professional staff (example: fitness assistants, member services reps, supervisors, scorekeepers, officials, climbing wall staff, lifeguards, etc.).
Attend required trainings, workshops, and staff meetings.
Support campus initiatives lead by Wellness and Recreation as well as other special events.
Follow Wellness and Recreation policies and procedures.

teamwork, initiative, and professionalism.

Job Summary
The Visitor Services Representative serves as the primary point of contact for all visitors to Parks Hall at Georgia College & State University, ensuring a professional, welcoming, and secure environment. This role manages the reception area, coordinates visitor access to secured facilities, oversees mail and delivery services within the building, and provides administrative support for building operations. The position requires excellent interpersonal skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to exercise sound judgment in managing visitor interactions and facility-related matters. The Visitor Services Representative reports to the Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Finance and Administration.
Responsibilities
Visitor Relations - 65%
* Serve as the first point of contact for all building visitors, creating a welcoming and professional atmosphere while determining the purpose of their visit.
* Verify visitor identification and issue appropriate access credentials for secured areas, providing assistance as needed.
* Ensure consistent coverage of the reception area during all business hours, including early arrival to open facilities.
* Maintain adequate inventory of visitor supplies and informational resources.
* Coordinate with building departments to maintain a current event calendar, enabling effective visitor guidance to appropriate locations.
* Function as the primary building information resource, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of occupant locations, specialized areas, and facility layout.
* Document visitor inquiries and requests, responding appropriately using knowledge of building operations and established protocols.
* Liaise with Special Assistants and Executive Assistants throughout the building to maintain awareness of scheduled visitors and address emerging issues.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Travel generally limited to travel for professional conferences/seminars a couple times a year or less, taking cash deposits to the bank, and other limited travel in carrying out the responsibilities of the position.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred
A minimum of two years' previous work experience in a business office or financial management operation
The ability to work independently with general direction and supervision
Strong communication and analytical skills, personal initiative, discernment, mature judgment, and the ability to deal with confidential matters with appropriate discretion;
Working knowledge of email, calendars, spreadsheets, and word processing applications (e.g. Google Apps, Microsoft Office)
Not-for-profit and/or higher education accounting experience, and experience working with an integrated software platform such as Ellucian will be useful, but not required
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
An acceptance of and commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
An understanding of the mission and purpose of Covenant College.
Must be able to assent to Covenant College's Staff Commitments.

THIS IS AN OFF-CAMPUS POSITION AND REQUIRES FEDERAL WORK-STUDY (FWS) DESIGNATION AND PERSONAL TRANSPORTATION.
Opened only to enrolled upperclassmen students.
Expected hours of work per week: 10 hours
Qualifications for Position:
MUST HAVE FEDERAL WORK-STUDY (FWS)
Upperclassmen (freshmen are not eligible for this position)
Have personal transportation.
Good organizational and communication skills
Ability to function independently on assigned projects.
Willingness to take direction.
Expected Duties and Responsibilities:
Review city ordinances to create a Q&A document, to include a search feature that could be embedded on the city website.
Audit the website for clarity, ease of use, and consistency of language.
Provide recommendations for innovative marketing material.
Submit grant requests for funding for fire/police, trails, pathways, etc.
Participate in the planning and management of community events and projects
Assist with 2025 Municipal Elections/Qualifying
Social Media / Website Management
Data entry
Assist admin, police, and fire, along with public works staff, as needed
Resume skills development (NACE Competencies required by employers) to be developed
Career & Self-Development: Gain hands-on experience in project management and city planning, enhancing the ability to self-assess and identify areas for growth in a professional setting.
Communication: Strengthen verbal and written communication skills through creating reports, drafting city ordinance summaries, preparing marketing materials, and interacting with various stakeholders (residents, city officials, and event participants).
Critical Thinking: Engage in problem-solving when auditing the city's website and identifying ways to improve clarity, ease of use, and consistency.
Global Literacy: Develop an understanding of the local government's role in community development and service, contributing to a broader perspective on governance and public service at the municipal level.
Leadership: Exhibit leadership skills by taking initiative on assigned projects and managing tasks independently, such as assisting with event planning and helping to improve city processes.
