3 Dogwood, Orthopedic-Neuro, Bariatric:
Parkwest's 3 Dogwood is a 36-bed unit specializing in Orthopedic Joint/Spine and Bariatrics. It is located inside our most recent expansion, the Dogwood Tower, which opened in December 2019. 3 Dogwood is a fast-paced unit with an average stay of 23 hours or less for the Joint and Bariatric patients.
A typical day on this unit may include pain management and drain monitoring to mobilizing a patient day-of surgery and sending them home! Parkwest's orthopedic and spine program have been recognized both nationally and regionally for excellent outcomes and outstanding quality. The most engaging part about 3 Dogwood is the teamwork. Nurses on our orthopedic-spine, bariatric unit are members of an integral team of health professionals including RNs, LPNs, SNAs, CNAs, HUCs, PTs, OTs and Clinical Dietitians. As a unit, they all work very closely together to make the patients their number one focus and to provide excellent patient care and outcomes.
We utilize a preferred self-scheduling model that covers a six-week period to allow for flexibility. Staff rotate every other major holiday and weekend. 3 Dogwood welcome's staff members of varying experiences, from new graduates to the experienced healthcare professional. Located in the “Penthouse of Parkwest” 5 Riverstone is a 44-bed unit located on the 5

floor beautiful views of the sunrise and sunset. The 5 Riverstone family is a diverse group of hardworking, dedicated individuals who use humor and teamwork to navigate out day to day work environment.
As a part of the 5R Team, you will see a large variety of patients including cardiac, pulmonary, and renal. Nurses on 5R have the opportunity to use their cardiac telemetry skills, operate various forms of oxygen delivery methods including stable tracheostomies (no ventilator patients), and care for pre/post hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis patients. The population on the unit is highly varied form self-care patients requiring only a work-up to total care patients. Nurses collaborate daily with case managers, social workers, pharmacists, and therapists to develop individual patient care plans. 5 Riverstone provides a professional and stimulating environment where critical thinking, problem solving, and teamwork is both nurtured and expected.

As a caregiver in Parkwest Medical Center's Complex Medical Unit, 4 Riverstone, you will meet daily challenges of caring for patients with a wide array of medical conditions. These subspecialties include nephrology, hepatology, immunology, infectious disease, endocrinology, gastroenterology, psychiatry, and geriatrics. Nurses on 4 Riverstone have a unique opportunity to work within a collaborative framework with an interdisciplinary team. Patients often have multiple diagnoses including, but not limited to, pneumonia, COPD, CHF, acute and chronic renal failure, cellulitis, gastrointestinal bleeds, acute and chronic liver failure, and other generalized medical conditions. Discharge planning is an important component of the patient's care; nurses collaborate daily with case managers, social workers, pharmacists, and therapists to develop individual patient care plans. 4 Riverstone provides a professional and stimulating environment where critical thinking, problem solving, and teamwork is both nurtured and expected.

2 Montvue is Parkwest's Medical Step-Down Unit that serves patients requiring step-down status due to higher acuity conditions and the need for increased monitoring. Patient diagnoses include respiratory failure, sepsis, gastrointestinal bleed, arrhythmias, hypertensive urgency, electrolyte imbalance, NSTEMI, pulmonary embolus, altered mental status, seizures, substance withdrawal, and strokes and other diagnosis requiring increased care.
The Step-down Unit accepts patients on a variety of intravenous drips that require titrations and frequent monitoring of vital signs, as well as tracheostomy ventilator patients. The unit provides patients with nursing care, medical monitoring, and an array of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Bed side report and daily rounding with a multidisciplinary team allow for excellent patient care.
You will find an energetic team made up of Registered Nurses, Patient Care Assistants and Health Unit Coordinators who are team oriented, morale boosters and have been deemed by students as “The most welcoming unit”. The Cardio-Thoracic Surgical Unit consists of 17 monitored step-down telemetry beds.
Our primary scope of service is provision of direct care to patients undergoing Coronary Artery Bypass surgery, TAVR, Mitral Valve Clipping, VATS procedures, Thoracotomies, and Vascular procedures.
We have long-term staff members because of the culture and teamwork on our floor. The physicians see this as well and trust the judgment of our team.
Our team includes high-quality Registered Nurses, Patient Care Assistants, and Health Unit Coordinators. Our staff work 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week and rotate every other weekend and holiday. We have a modified self-scheduling model that covers a six-week period to allow for flexibility. Certified Nurse Midwife, Women's Health Center Leconte Full Time, 72 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift At Fort Sanders Perinatal Center, we're here for women with pregnancies that require extra care, and we're ready to help you make the best healthcare decisions from conception through delivery. For more than 25 years, we've provided comprehensive high-risk pregnancy services and delivered over 26,000 high-risk babies at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. We offer a range of care services for higher-risk pregnancies, including mothers over age 35, multiples, complications, birth defects, issues such as diabetes or hypertension, or pregnancies after infertility.

Position Summary:
Provides comprehensive healthcare to a selective population of essentially healthy women. Participates in the care of women with medical complications in collaboration with Obstetrician-Gynecologists, following established medical protocols.

Responsibilities
* Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required, and adjusts processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
* Performs accurate history and physician examinations.
* Identifies health hazards in the patient's environment as well as patient risk factors. Identifies and considers the cultural patterns, economic status, and patient resources in plan of care.
* Participates in office clinic and Hospital schedule as assigned.
* Obtains appropriate laboratory specimens.
* Performs in office procedures as appropriate to include: Annual Exams, Colposcopies, IUD insertion and removal; Nexplanon insertions and removal; incision and drainage procedures
* Analyzes objective and subjective data for appropriate diagnosis and treatment.
* Provides primary gynecological and obstetrical care in an ambulatory setting, following established medical protocols.
* Provides inpatient obstetrical care including:
* Labor management
* Vaginal delivery of infant(s)
* Repair of lacerations/episiotomy
* Management of minor complications, following established medical protocols
* Initiates emergency care as needed.
* Rounds on assigned OB/GYN Hospital Patients.
* Other services as outlined in hospital privileges including but not limited to:
* Management of triage patients
* Management of antepartum and post-partum patients
* ER Consultations
* Admission and discharge of OB/GYN patients
* NST Interpretation
* Ultrasound fetal heart rate and/or fetal presentation
* After clinic hours patient phone calls
* Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording on patient medical records and maintains all required reports, records, statistics, etc. Documents all pertinent information.
* Refers patient to appropriate services which exceed scope of practice of the practitioner.
* Provides health promotion counseling and develop patient teaching information.
* Participates as needed in research activities and data collection.
* Instructs and supervises medical and midwifery students and other learners as assigned.
* Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Master's degree from an accredited school of midwifery
Minimum Experience:
Two (2) years' experience in a midwifery practice or as a labor/delivery nurse.
Licensure Requirement:
Must have and maintain TN license for both Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with Certificate of Fitness to Prescribe, as well as have and maintain certification of American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB). Must have and maintain Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration. CPR Required.
