Summary:
This position is responsible for performing quality ultrasound examinations at the direction of a Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP). Sonographer utilizes application of advanced clinical and technical knowledge to provide safe quality procedures aligned with Cook Children's values and Our Promise. This position is accountable for providing direct patient care and maintaining expertise for all ages spanning from neonatal/newborn to young adults. The patient acuity ranges from stable outpatients to critically ill patients on full life support.
Schedule:
First Shift, Fri-Sun, 6:30am-7pm.
Qualifications:
Completion of accredited Medical Sonography Program by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs
Three years of ultrasound experience preferred
ARDMS or ARRT(S) registry eligible
ARDMS must be completed within 18 months of hire

The Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer under the supervision of a qualified physician for diagnosis and treatment, performs a wide-range of high-risk perinatal diagnostic sonographic procedures using high-frequency sound waves to assess fetal development, maternal and fetal anatomy, and vascular structures. The role requires specialized skills in maternal-fetal imaging and supports the evaluation, diagnosis, and care of complex pregnancies within the ambulatory setting.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required
Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
Minimum 1 year of experience in high-risk obstetric ultrasound in a hospital or maternal-fetal medicine setting
ARDMS certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) required
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
