    US:MI:SAGINAW VARIABLE SHIFT FULL TIME BENEFITED The Staff CRNA functions as a member of the Anesthesia Care Team in a medically directed capacity to provide safe, appropriate anesthetics for a variety of patients. The Staff CRNA demonstrates excellent customer service performance in that his/her attitude and actions are at all times consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission and Values of Covenant HealthCare and the commitment to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation. Responsibilities: In cooperation with the Anesthesiologist, develops an appropriate Anesthetic care plan based on the specific needs of the patient and surgeon. Assures that an appropriate pre-Anesthetic evaluation of the patient has been performed, to include proper Anesthetic Record documentation and informed consent. Determines the drug, equipment and supply needs for each Anesthetic and prepares accordingly. Transports the patient from the POHA to the Surgical Suite. Assists in proper positioning of the patient in the Surgical Suite, applies appropriate monitoring modalities. Induces and maintains Anesthesia at appropriate levels, manages any intra-operative Anesthetic needs, seeks consultation and assistance from the Anesthesiologist as appropriate. Records appropriate data on the Anesthetic Record completely and accurately. Terminates the Anesthetic when appropriate, assists with transport of the patient to the PACU area using appropriate monitoring and airway support adjuncts when required. Provides an accurate, appropriate report to the nurse accepting care of the patient post-operatively. Adheres to established safety precautions and controls to minimize hazards of electricity, fire, infection, or untoward reactions; inspects and tests all Anesthetic equipment appropriately before use for readiness, cleanliness, and working condition. Removes and sends faulty equipment for repair, or discards if unusable/unrepairable. Attends and participates in Department meetings. Participates in Department Quality Assurance activities, including chart audits and Morbidity/Mortality Reviews. Shares with Department Staff any new techniques and knowledge obtained at Continuing Education Programs. Demonstrates effective communication methods and skills, using lines of authority appropriately. Develops effective working relationships with all health care team members, patients and families. Remains flexible in staffing patterns and resolution of staffing conflicts to meet the needs of the Department of Anesthesia and Surgical Services. Demonstrates awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care and unit function, and strives to manage situations in a reduced-risk manner. Demonstrates excellent customer service by respecting and maintaining the basic human rights, personal dignity, and human relationships of peers, coworkers and patients. This position involves assessment and treatment of individuals with physical and neurological rehabilitation conditions. RIM has an APA accredited postdoctoral residency in clinical neuropsychology and is a founding member of the Association of Postdoctoral Programs in Clinical Neuropsychology (APPCN). The department also has neuropsychology graduate students from local universities who complete practice in the Department of Rehabilitation Psychology and Neuropsychology at RIM. The department is also the hub for the Southeastern Michigan Traumatic Brain Injury System, one of the 16 TBI Model Systems that carries out longitudinal outcome studies in persons with TBI. Qualifications: Education - Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology with specialty training in Neuropsychology, including a two year postdoctoral residency in Clinical Neuropsychology. Must be license eligible in Michigan. Experience - Required: The applicant should have experience in working with patients with neurological conditions and performing neuropsychological evaluations, especially with individuals who have sustained a traumatic brain injury, stroke, anoxic injuries, neoplastic disease, dementia, and movement disorders. Responsibilities: Demonstrates excellent customer service Assure all communications via telephone or in person are timely, tactful, effective, positive, and professional. When needed educating customers in what assistance that we may provide. Accurately and timely process all requests for patient medical information to promote continuity of patient care, facilitate reimbursement to the hospital, and meet legal needs of the patient, physician, and hospital. Assure all requests for information (written/verbal) are processed through the Release of Information Module in Epic so a log is created for Disclosure Reporting purposes. This includes but is not limited to: subpoena's, ADR's, RAC requests, HDI requests, patient requests, etc. Work with copy service, HealthPort and the record storage company, File Safe, to assure records are retrieved/delivered or faxed in a timely manner. Provide records in the format desired by requester: paper, CD, faxed, mailed, and through MyChart. Assist with MyChart Proxy and Care Everywhere requests as needed. Assist in achieving department goals. Completed requests on individual patients are prepped, scanned, and indexed in OnBase for future reference. Requests with multiple patient's are kept in date order in binders. Keep up to date on changes with new technology and rules and regulations for Release of Information. Perform other technical functions as required or assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. Protect confidentiality and security of patient medical information, assuring that information is released only upon valid authorization and in accordance with HIPAA rules, departmental, and hospital policy. Assure that all legal requirements, including Federal (HIPAA) and State regulations are met in complying with requests for information. Seek clarification from Manager and/or Hospital attorney's for questionable requests. Develop and present in-service education programs on confidentiality, HIPAA privacy, and release of information as needed. Review and modify ROI policies and procedures as appropriate. Other information: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Associates degree required. RHIA/RHIT or eligible for accreditation preferred. Medical Terminology Required.
