About the Role:
The Yard Worker / Striker plays a critical role in the efficient operation of WH Lumber's retail yard by ensuring the timely and accurate handling of lumber and building materials. This position is responsible for organizing, loading, unloading, and moving inventory within the yard to support sales and customer fulfillment. The role requires close collaboration with sales staff, delivery drivers, and warehouse personnel to maintain a safe and orderly work environment. The Yard Worker / Striker contributes to customer satisfaction by preparing orders accurately and assisting with special requests or custom cuts as needed. Ultimately, this position ensures that materials are readily available and properly maintained to support the overall success of the retail trade operations at WH Lumber.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials up to 80lbs.
Basic knowledge of lumber and building materials.
Valid forklift operator certification or willingness to obtain one.
Strong attention to safety protocols and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working in a lumber yard or similar retail trade environment.
Experience operating various types of yard equipment beyond forklifts.
Good communication skills to interact with customers and team members.

About the Role:

How You will Make an Impact:

Collaborate with site and company leadership to identify, plan, and execute strategic improvement projects that align with business goals and enhance overall performance.
Champion a culture of continuous improvement by leading cross-functional Kaizen events, driving OpEx ownership across all levels of the organization, and ensuring adherence to standard operating practices.
Evaluate and improve manufacturing and business processes by identifying bottlenecks, removing waste, and implementing sustainable, data-driven solutions.
Lead product cost-reduction strategies and capital planning initiatives to improve financial and operational outcomes.
Establish and monitor KPIs to track progress of improvement projects, regularly reporting outcomes and opportunities to senior leadership.
Serve as the primary advocate and subject matter expert for OpEx principles across the organization, including multi-site and international operations (e.g., Mexico).
Ensure environmental, health, and safety programs are integrated into operational improvement efforts and maintained at industry-best levels.
What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of manufacturing experience, with demonstrated success in leadership roles; front-line supervision experience is a plus.
Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and driving large-scale change initiatives in manufacturing environments.
Strong foundation in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, with formal Six Sigma certification or documented project success.
Expertise in EH&S practices in a manufacturing setting.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage across all organizational levels.
Self-motivated, results-oriented leader who thrives in dynamic environments and operates with minimal direction.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and modern digital tools for project tracking, analysis, and reporting.

REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical device design/manufacturer environment responsible for documentation control. Minimum of an Associate's Degree in a Science or Technical discipline. Multiple certifications specific to medical device quality and/or standards may be considered for a non-degreed professional, along with equivalent industry experience.
Familiarity with documents that support the following in a medical device environment: new product development (protocols, reports, software, validation data, Design History Files), quality system (procedures, forms, quality records), and manufacturing (Device Master Record, Bills of Material, routers, procedures, Device History Records) documentation
Past experience with electronic documentation control systems
Exposure of 21 CFR Part 11 and Computer/Quality System Software management methods preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines.
Must to be to work independently or as part of a team
Experience in data entry, handling electronic files
Above average organizational skills, detail-oriented while being flexible, able to adapt to changing priorities is required.

In this role, you will provide in-store merchandising support to Retailers to meet shoppers' needs. This includes building displays and end caps, resetting shelves with product rotation, and tracking inventory to ensure that stores and suppliers maximize sales opportunities.
