Senior Technician Specialist Job in Excelsior Springs, MO
SUMMARY OF POSITION FUNCTION:
Plans, organizes and supervises assigned shifts.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides supervision, training, assessment, and leadership for Independent Living Staff.
Screens, interviews and selects candidates for hire.
Participates in Student Behavior Review Panels.
Completes all documentation requirements for Center Information System and staff folders.
Coordinates and collaborates with recreation and other staff to provide ongoing student events.
Meets with counselors, instructors and student human resources officers to discuss student performance and progress.
Plans, organizes and controls the use of overtime and on-call staff to insure compliance with Center and ETR policy and procedures.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Basic understanding of management practices; proven ability to lead and support a team
Working knowledge of behavior management techniques
Strong customer service skills; knowledge and understanding of the needs of disadvantaged youth
Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to meet frequent deadlines and handle stressful, hectic situations without loss of efficiency and composure
Proficient in the use of computer software such as MSWord, Excel and Outlook, etc.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
4-year degree including 15 hours of course work in social services or counseling fields..
EXPERIENCE:
Residential experience in a group home or college dormitory setting preferred.
OTHER:
Must possess a valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.

General office and dormitory setting
Indoor and outdoor environment
May be required to work a flex schedule to include evenings and/or weekends
Exposure to possible confrontations with students
