Job Summary
The Cardiology Nurse is responsible for managing the care of the adult or geriatric patient experiencing acute, chronic, and/or terminal cardiovascular diseases, comorbid medical conditions, and associated procedures. The nurse must be able to assess patient condition, administer medications and monitor patient response, monitor and interpret telemetry, and provide patients and families with support and education.

**This position is not a remote position. This position will be located in our Virtual Care Command Center located at Cox South Hospital**
The Early Intervention Team (EIT) Nurse is a registered professional nurse who functions under the direction of the Nurse Manager and is responsible for coordination of EIT assessment of patient, prioritization and implementation of interventions to ensure optimal patient outcomes, documentation of interventions and outcomes, communication with other team members and disciplines, and safe delivery of age appropriate and culturally aware patient care. As an EIT Nurse you will also be responsible for: â–ª Addressing the patient/family biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial and education needs. The EIT Nurse serves as a resource/support to the staff, physicians, patients, families, and other departments. â–ª Rapid Response calls, follow-up visits, EIT data collection, entry and analysis, development of EIT practice guidelines, evaluation of patient codes and informal education of staff. â–ª Managing rapid prevention and treatment of patients experiencing sepsis, CVA, respiratory distress, acute coronary syndrome and other comorbidities. â–ª Recognizing, assessing, coordinating, interpreting clinical surveillance data, re-evaluating the nursing care plan of patients and communicating that plan to the assigned team members and bedside clinical team. â–ª Possessing an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of nursing care for a specific unit patient population to include patients and their families, utilizing conscientious consideration for patients with diverse cultural backgrounds. â–ª Performing crisis intervention as a first priority and be a lead resource when responding to Rapid Response, Code Blue, Class 1 Stroke, In-House STEMI and In-House Trauma. â–ª Being regarded as a resource and subject matter expert for staff on patient care issues. â–ª Providing consultative assessments to help facilitate higher level transfers within the hospital.
Education:
â–ª Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
â–ª Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Experience:
Minimum 2 years recent critical care nursing or 2 years critical care medic (example Air Care or Flight Paramedic), 5 years preferred.
Working knowledge of applicable Policies and Lippincott Procedure.

**Job Summary:**
Pre-licensure graduate of an accredited nursing program who actively participates in SSM Health New Graduate Nurse Residency Program. Under the direction of RN, provides care to patients within scope of role and professional standards. Responsible for the delivery of age appropriate care for assigned patients with a wide variety of medical conditions. Nurse Residents in the state of Oklahoma can perform responsibilities designated below (Oklahoma). Nurse Residents in Wisconsin, Illinois and Missouri can perform all responsibilities listed.
**Job Responsibilities and Requirements:**
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Under the direction of the RN Preceptor:
+ Performs delegated tasks based on demonstrated competence in performing nursing care activities for population served. Delegated specialized tasks may include anything for which training was received in the approved nursing program. In the state of Oklahoma, this does not include tasks/skills which must be performed by a licensed nurse.
+ Performs patient assessments including biophysical, psychosocial, spiritual, cultural, and age appropriate needs of the patients, including the assessment of nutrition, pain management, and signs/symptoms of abuse or neglect in order to develop, evaluate and modify patient's plan of care.
+ Develops a realistic, comprehensive patient family education plan, using appropriate resources and methods of instruction and provides patient/family health education and coaching.
+ Completes accurate and timely documentation (Oklahoma), including, but not limited to, the processing of physician orders, in accordance with policies and procedures. Monitors and evaluates delivery of nursing care given by team members based on patient needs and professional judgement.
+ Collaborates with physicians and other health care professionals regarding all aspects of patient care.
+ Participates in training to understand and perform patient care. (Oklahoma)
