Position Summary:
The Material Handler will support welders and fabricators by ensuring timely delivery, staging, and organization of stainless steel piping materials, fittings, and components. This role is critical to maintaining efficient production flow, minimizing downtime, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
Principle Responsibilities:
Safely transport raw materials, stainless steel pipes, and components to designated workstations.
Stage and organize materials for welders and fabricators according to production schedules.

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes in compliance with safety policy.

The Project Manager will coordinate cross-functional efforts, hire and manage external vendors for specialized tasks, and ensure that critical areas such as software applications, infrastructure/hardware, data management (with data privacy compliance), and ERP systems (migration or separation) are effectively addressed during integrations.

Use 2D dimensional reading skills to interpret engineering or customer supplied drawings and specifications.
Use ability to read measuring instruments not limited to, but including tape measure, rulers, calipers, micrometers.
Verify protective shielding and restricted area signs are in place before welding. Andon lights to be used while welding is in process.
Ability to set up and safely operate the plasma-arc cutting torch in accordance with the manufacturing procedures.
Perform material handling functions inside of weld cell applicable to consumable parts, fittings, tubing and other components.

Should have three or more years' experience with GTAW welding stainless steel and or completed equivalent technical school training.

**In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:**
+ Be responsible for personal safety and for the safety of others. Must maintain excellent housekeeping standards.
+ Set-up, indicate, and machine raw material (bar stock, forgings, and castings) to manufacture Fisher parts to OEM print dimensions.
+ Cross-train on all machines to prevent lapse in production flow including but not limited to engine lathes, manual drills, horizontal bandsaws, CNC lathes, VTLs, HBMs, and CNC mills.
+ Must understand material hardness, cutting tools, speeds and feeds, coolant requirements and machining techniques.

+ Adherence to all safety, quality, and environmental rules and regulations.

Job Overview:
We are seeking a Design Engineer with experience in Portable Life Support Systems (PLSS) or related life support systems to join our multidisciplinary, Houston-based team, to advance the next generation of human spaceflight technologies.
The Design Engineer develops assembly or component designs for use in ILC products; designs are developed with consideration of quality, cost, function, system integration and producibility. Develops concepts, prototype components or assemblies, test the products, document the designs, and support production during manufacture. This position is subject to moderate supervision with latitude for independent judgment.
Responsibilities:
* Support the design, development, and integration of PLSS components and subsystems for space suit applications.
* Collaborate with systems engineers, electrical, and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and performance.
* Utilize established engineering principles in the design and evaluation of mechanical components.
* Design, create, and repair mechanical components or sub-assemblies using applied mechanical engineering principles, including solid and fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.
* Develop CAD models, detailed drawings, and engineering documentation in accordance with aerospace standards.
* Create prototypes and conduct testing to ensure design performs as expected.
* Work with fabrication and manufacturing departments to ensure final design is properly executed in the creation of mechanical products.
* Create and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
* Conduct trade studies, tolerance analyses, and design reviews to optimize performance, mass, and manufacturability.
* Interface with NASA and commercial customers to define requirements and present technical solutions.
* Use of films, fabrics, adhesive systems, heat sealing, bonding, and sewing technologies during the design process.
* Use of the following methods, related to softgoods, during design of products or development of processes: inflation and leakage testing, burst and proof pressure optimization, and materials physical properties testing.

* Support prototype fabrication, testing, and validation of PLSS hardware in lab and field environments.

* 5+ years of experience performing design engineering tasks in aerospace.
