Plan, execute, and functionally support customer design and development projects. Owns impactful projects and processes to the business that are complex, multi-dimensional, and drive improvements to CRANE and XOMOX valve portfolio. Principle Duties (includes, but is not limited to):
* Plan, execute, and functionally support customer design and development projects as assigned in accordance with safety practices, industry specifications, company policies, department procedures, and business group needs.
* Strategize and thoroughly complete product design updates, new product order requirements, and process improvements.
* Organize, document, and communicate design projects with transparency, timeliness, and in complete detail with internal and external customers in mind.
* Provide product fit, form, and function support to all business groups.
* Create engineering test reports, bulletins, drawings, work instructions, and assembly procedures in a timely and professional manner.
* Perform engineering evaluations, problem solve, and implement creative solutions to internal and external customer issues.
* Research and approve or reject deviation requests from production floor, suppliers, and foundries.
* Evaluate, prove with data, and implement product design changes.
* Validate designs are acceptable through design of experiment (DoE) lab testing, quantifiable measurements, and industry qualification methods.
* Create and maintain documentation of designs, testing, and other project data in accordance with company procedures.
* Read and interpret industry, customer, and internal codes and standards applicable to the valve industry.
* Increase product knowledge through taking on ownership of projects, reading internal and external product and process specifications, shop floor walks, discussions with senior personnel, documentation of problem solving solutions.
* Achieve specific and curated personal and professional development goals agreed upon with the product engineering team lead.
* Partake in internal and external growth development paths related to the business: CRANE Business System processes, kaizen participation, ISO 9001:2015 Auditor Training, etc.
* Recommend innovative solutions to enhance and improve the quality of departmental and/or company-wide business activities.
* Knowledgeable of competitor products in the market.

Essential Qualifications / Experience:
* Minimum 4-year degree in a Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or Engineering Design field.
* Minimum 2 years of experience OR 3 Co-op related rotations. (Valve industry, manufacturing, machining, fabrication, foundry).
* Leadership to drive actions in cross-functional teams for problem solving product and design issues.
* Technically proficient and adaptability to learn new software systems (Microsoft Office, Excel, QAD).
* Understanding and experience in reading industry codes and material specifications (ex. ASTM, ANSI, API).
* Design of Experiment (DoE) and data collection to validate design changes and process issues.
* Strong 2D & 3D CAD experience (CREO, Pro-E, SolidWorks, CIMCAD, Windchill).
* ERP experience preferred (QAD).
* Time management of multiple high priority tasks.
* Strong written and verbal skills, professionally interact with suppliers, customers, and shop floor personnel.

Position Summary
The Mechanical Engineer 3 is responsible for all phases of Wheel & Brake new product development including requirements management, requirements validation, design manufacturing phase, qualification / certification testing and initial entry into service. This involves working with the customers to define and validate design requirements while complying with program cost and schedule requirements. The role also includes support for internal customers to ensure the business delivers its commitments to its contractual customers and operators.
Essential Functions
* Act as the Lead Designer or Lead Engineer on assigned projects for multiple LRU's; plan, direct and coordinate the efforts of the design team for all phases of LRU design development
* Responsible for the design of one or more LRU's on a project or across multiple projects
* Works directly with the project team to ensure all program targets are satisfied including technical performance, Cost (NRC, RC) and project milestones (Schedule)
* Responsible for maintaining drawing release schedule for assigned LRU's. This includes support work required from other engineering functions to support the LRU development.
* Works closely with supply chain and/or operations to ensure designs are manufacturable (DFM) while satisfying the Design to Cost (DTC) targets
* Responsible for ensuring drawings are released on time and are in conformance with design and drafting standards
* Responsible for the creation or review of internal and external customer deliverables (SDRL's) as required for a project
* Interfaces with the Lead Engineer, Functional Manager and/or other Engineering team members as required to ensure progress is being made while identifying constraints and roadblocks
* Work closely with assigned Test Engineers to assist in the development of all qualification test documents and test set-up drawings to ensure qualification test plans verify requirements according to the agreed method of compliance.
* Provides input to the preparation of Internal/external design reviews as required
* Responsible for coordinating with stress, thermal, vibration and reliability analysis engineers to ensure adequate margins against design requirements are met.
* Responsible for coordination with Supply Chain and/or Operations to ensure designs for manufacture while satisfying the Design to Cost targets.
* Support and/or lead as applicable Root Cause & Corrective Action for qualification, design, and manufacturing issues.
* Required to actively support Continuous Improvement initiatives within the Wheel & Brake department.
* Provides guidance to and mentors the junior and less experienced members of the W&B department.
* Evaluate technical suggestions pertaining to manufacturing operations and production facility requests for engineering service
* Participates in the evaluation of product non-conformances from the production facility with a view to becoming a Material Review Board signatory
* Consults with and seeks guidance from the Product Line Expert (PLE), SME (Subject Matter Expert) and Chief Engineers as required
Qualifications
* Bachelor degree (required) in Mechanical Engineering
* Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
* Extensive product development experience including design and manufacture.
* Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and working knowledge of applicable manufacturing processes.
* Aerospace experience preferred, wheel and brake experience desirable.
* Aircraft Systems knowledge or experience preferred.

A Brief Summary of This Position:
This position is responsible for structural analysis and design of products to be quoted and fabricated by the Valmont Transmission, Distribution, and Substation (TD&S) Division, with a strong emphasis on developing, training, and guiding new and incoming engineers. The role includes full design responsibility for processing specific orders-particularly projects requiring PE stamping-and leading major developmental efforts. The Senior Professional Engineer will serve as a technical mentor, provide onboarding support, enhance engineering proficiency across the team, and ensure high-quality engineering practices throughout the organization.
Essential Functions:
Reports to the Engineering Director or Manager; no direct reports, but provides functional leadership and training to engineering staff.
This role may require up to 10% travel (internationally/domestically), including overnight stays
Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria; devise new approaches to unique design and analysis challenges.
Serve as the primary trainer and mentor for Associate, Design, Project, and new graduate Engineers, providing structured guidance, technical instruction, and performance feedback.
Provide general direction to Senior Design, Design, and/or Associate Drafters, with an emphasis on skill development and knowledge transfer.
Interpret customer specifications and design structures to meet those requirements in accordance with applicable national standards, technical society rules, and Valmont Utility codes.
Provide technical support for quotations and orders through phone, email, or in person.
Collaborate with the Engineering Applications group to develop, enhance, and teach the use of design and analysis programs.
Serve as the responsible Professional Engineer of record on designated projects, including sealing and signing structural designs in compliance with state licensing regulations.
Ensure compliance with all applicable engineering codes, standards, and legal requirements associated with licensed professional engineering practice.
Lead training sessions, create onboarding materials, and develop best-practice documentation to elevate technical consistency and capability across the engineering team.
Promote a culture of professional growth through continuous coaching and knowledge-sharing.
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate:
B.S. degree in Civil, Structural, or other engineering discipline with at least 7 years of relevant experience and Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) certification required
High level of technical competence in structural engineering
Progressive professional experience, including responsibility for guiding or training others
Strong working knowledge of computer-aided design tools and engineering software; ability to teach their use effectively
Solid understanding of product end-use and design loading requirements
Good communication skills and fluent in English through written and oral communication
Ability to explain complex technical concepts to engineers at varying experience levels

Job Summary:
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. You'll be a part of continuous improvement around machining and manufacturing strategies.
Essential Functions:
Performs production support engineering work, requiring the application of standard and advanced techniques, procedures and criteria in supporting processes and/or systems.
Identify appropriate equipment and machining strategies to manufacture machined components.
Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling, and production equipment capabilities, machining methods, and quality control standards
Develop and test and/or source and cost-justify various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods. Includes capital justifications, implementation documentation, and training.
Create new and maintain existing production routings, defining each operation required to move a component or assembly through the complete manufacturing process from the issuance of raw material through production, assembly, and test.
Define machine, tools, and gages to be used, what required feeds and speeds, and significant handling factors each operation requires to manufacture and/or assemble components in accordance with product specifications.
Monitor overall process ownership of manufacturing area(s) as assigned to provide root cause analysis and interface with other functional groups as required to review and resolve processing issues with corrective actions.
Prepare component and assembly cost estimates to support financial decisions required to evaluate new business opportunities
Where applicable, create or modify NC/CNC programs to manufacture hardware according to product specification(s) while ensuring efficient production methods.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
Experience: 0-5 years manufacturing experience with preference of precision machining
