RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
* Drive implementation of Process Controls
* Detailed Process Flow Charts (Maps)
* PFMEA facilitation
* Coordination of Corrective Actions for High RPNs to PFMEA
* Control Plan Creation
* Creation of detailed Operator Job Instructions (Visual)
* Creation of Work Instructions
* Conduct gage R/R and capability studies as data suggests
* Non-conforming material
* Organize material in the main collection area. Perform basic inspection/validation of non-conformance
* Data/entry/ disposition material as directed using reports
* Receiving inspection
* Validate material acceptance using internal and industry standards
* Final inspection
* Verify order compliance (certs, govt requirements/order requirements met)
* Inspect complete product
* Create a Certificate of Conformance following the established process
* First pass yield troubleshooting
* Assist in resolving assembly/machining issues by using blueprints, measuring parts, determining root cause with a path forward to correct
* Verification of product using a wide variety of metrology tools
* Conduct internal process audits

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
* High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates Degree or Manufacturing/ Quality Technical Certification preferred
* Basic metrology skills required.
* 3 years of manufacturing experience (assembly or machining) desirable.
* Natural sense of urgency
* Ability to interpret engineering specifications and drawings
* Troubleshooting and root cause identification capabilities.

Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for a **Senior Machine Shop Process Engineer** opening to join our KitchenAid organization. This is an onsite role for our Greenville, OH location.
You will serve as a project leader and technical resource in the development and application of CNC (computerized numerical control) equipment, Automation, Conveyors, Polishers required to fabricate our internal parts across a variety of backshop processes. You will be responsible for cost and quality improvements and supporting daily operations to achieve division goals.

**Your responsibilities will include**
+ Identify, analyze and solve manufacturing process issues and equipment related problems to continuously improve Business KPIs results for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People.
+ Drive machine shop process improvements through the use of lean manufacturing concepts and tools.
+ Work and lead the improvements in the equipment to achieve our OEE ( Overall Equipment Effectiveness) Targets required to achieve our volume goals
+ Provide technical support to technicians and work teams and serve as technical resource for the department.
+ Support the day to day operations
+ Scope, order and assure proper implementation of new processes & equipment;
+ Determine root cause of problems and implement corrective & preventive actions utilizing methods from lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.
+ Direct cross functional process improvement projects with the assistance of team members from all aspects of the division.
+ Analyze, evaluate and document standards according to quality system requirements such as Standard operating procedures, Control Plans, and FMEAs
+ Provide a critical link between the department and other process partners such as product design, assembly, paint, maintenance, safety, quality, etc.
+ Initiate problem solving and conduct root cause analysis working with the team.
+ Implement cost saving projects and special assignments as required
**Minimum requirements**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
+ 3+ years of Manufacturing experience in an Engineering role
**Preferred skills and experiences**
+ Backshop experience (CNC, Automation, Polishers, Robots etc)
+ Strong knowledge of lean principles and the ability to apply them in order to establish and/or improve processes
+ Working knowledge of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing)
+ Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the specific ability to act as a team leader and interact at all layers within the organization

SUMMARY
As part of overall duties to provide failure analysis will evaluate a variety of technical and cost factors for products, materials, and manufacturing processes of diverse/difficult scope and complexity and recommends engineering and manufacturing actions to attain design objectives. Coordinates or conducts research and analysis of materials and processes on assigned products or programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Materials and Processes research and development of new configuration, new product and development or introduction for thermal management and gas turbine fuel systems including manifolds, valves and fuel nozzles utilizing state of the art materials and joining processes.
* Subject matter expertise in heat treatment, vacuum and induction brazing, GTAW, EB and Laser welding, forgings, castings, coatings and chemical processing methods.
* Support materials issues, metallographic preparation and evaluation, SEM/EDS, materials failure investigation and analysis, fatigue, stress, fracture mechanism, fractorgraphy corrosion analysis, knowledge with ability to provide support to other engineering disciplines as well as management and customers.
* Thorough understanding of all metallurgical aspects of Iron-base alloys, Stainless steels, Ni, Co, Ti Al and composite materials.
* Knowledge and acumen within raw material processing of metallics, ceramics and composites, additive manufacturing of materials including stainless steels Aluminum, Ni-base superalloys and non-metallics.
* Interface with customers offering guidance and manufacturability on materials and process as it relates to customer systems or interface condition and environments.
* Support production operation with improving process yields and reducing scrap through lab and 6-sigma driven investigations.
* Write comprehensive, detailed and concise reports that include preparation and delivery in MS Office applications and deliver through stand up or vitual presentations.
* Possess familiarity with AS9100, Nadcap and FAA regulations with ability to make improvements to quality management processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
* BS, MS or PHD in materials science, metallurgical engineering or related discipline with process engineering knowledge required.
* Six (6) or more years of related experience required, including 3-5 years of experience in failure analyses, equipment and techniques i.e. SEM, EDS, BSE, ESED and other advance metallographic techniques used in aerospace field.
* Demonstrated field experience in non-ferrous metallurgy including nickel base, cobalt base, titanium, aluminum and other corrosion and oxidation resistant alloys.
* Experience working through problem solving teams within an engineering and quality driven organization with diverse technical backgrounds.
* Adaptive and resilient to daily changes in work scheduling to meet internal customer demands with strong written and presentation skills.

Job Summary:
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. You'll be a part of continuous improvement around machining and manufacturing strategies.
Essential Functions:
Performs production support engineering work, requiring the application of standard and advanced techniques, procedures and criteria in supporting processes and/or systems.
Identify appropriate equipment and machining strategies to manufacture machined components.
Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling, and production equipment capabilities, machining methods, and quality control standards
Develop and test and/or source and cost-justify various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods. Includes capital justifications, implementation documentation, and training.
Create new and maintain existing production routings, defining each operation required to move a component or assembly through the complete manufacturing process from the issuance of raw material through production, assembly, and test.
Define machine, tools, and gages to be used, what required feeds and speeds, and significant handling factors each operation requires to manufacture and/or assemble components in accordance with product specifications.
Monitor overall process ownership of manufacturing area(s) as assigned to provide root cause analysis and interface with other functional groups as required to review and resolve processing issues with corrective actions.
Prepare component and assembly cost estimates to support financial decisions required to evaluate new business opportunities
Where applicable, create or modify NC/CNC programs to manufacture hardware according to product specification(s) while ensuring efficient production methods.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
Experience: 0-5 years manufacturing experience with preference of precision machining
Knowledge: Understanding of manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, assembly and production equipment, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), demonstrated Computer assisted design (CAD) proficiency, automation or machining highly desired
Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
